So...we don't want to sign proven players in FA cause we might lose a comp pick that's no guarantee to be a high one, to use to draft a player that's not guaranteed to make the team much less be a contributor, after they ride the bench for 3 years? Got it. Yea that's much better than just signing a guy to plug a damn hole now.

Basically.

We would have to have great coaches for this to work that could coach up these picks quickly.

We don't have this, hence, bad plan.

Bad plan
Draft a guard in the first round, when he comes into his prime, we dont value guards that much and let him go to Cleveland.
We prefer a 3rd round comp pick, we cant be sure of.
Why the hell did we draft a guard in the first round back then?
