For those unfamiliar with the zone blocking schemes Pollack will undoubtedly bring with him, check this video out:

Mixon will absolutely thrive in this type of blocking scheme.
F***ing A man !
Had a hard night at work but this is definitely uplifting news.
Happy, happy, happy.
Oops meant Dilly Dilly Rueben, sorry do not hate those commercials yet.
Dallas was loaded with 1st round talent on their Oline, not that I'm all that sold on 1st round v any other round, but they didn't exactly drop much this past season in Oline ranking.. 2nd to 6th? It's not as if they intentionally tanked like Indy did to get Luck..
No..J Jones is just one major egomaniac and not too bright and they just had to protect Garrett for reasons unbeknownst to the rest of the intellitencia of the world .. Time will tell how Pollack works out.
What the rest of the intellitencia wants to really know is what would make them dump Pollack for potentially signing PA.. That's the real head scrapper..
Hopefully this works out. I keep remembering that Piano Man liked zone blocking and when he had his way we were utterly atrocious in both run and pass blocking.
Hell yeah...my hope is restored. If we do something crazy in FA I will shit my pants. WHO DEY
Great signing. Wow...
Sorry, I try not to use the 'W' word too much in a good meaning regarding the Bengals, but this time it just slipped out.

This looks like another good hire. I like Lasor. The Defensive Coordinator has coached in 3 Super Bowls. Pollack had a good O Line in Dallas in 2016. Ex NFL player and has coached at Texans, Raiders and Cowboys. He is as big as Whitworth and pictures of him on internet show him very intense coaching players.

Looks like Bengals boards. Everyone is glad he’s gone. Offensive line struggled this year, but remember, us Bengals fans are used to coaches sticking around for decades. Just because he had one bad season doesn’t mean he’s done for! Ha
I really do like this signing though. Out of all the coaches available you have to believe Pollack was one of the best, if not the best.
Definitely a good hire. Now let's trade for Martin and Frederick.

The majority of posts in that thread have zero substance or thought behind them. Almost none of them give any reason for why they think it's good he's gone. I don't expect much from Dallas fans because they're mostly just bandwagon fans but there was literally nothing learned about the guy from that thread.

Or, he could have just grown tired of enduring Jerry Jones, and decided that Mike Brown was reputed to be a kind tyrant?
I was wondering the same. This happened really quickly, as opposed to how the Bengals usually do these things. Ordinarily, they wait to see who shakes out, usually to their detriment as they miss out on really good talent.
This was just the opposite. Marv and Mike moved quickly on this one. They must have realized he would be hired quickly if they hadn't made a move.
Ironically, Cowboys are looking at Alexander. Go figure.
Anyway, good hire! He must have become tired of the Jerry Jones "show".

But we may have got lucky.

Bengals had interviewed Jeff Davidson (#Broncos) Harold Goodwin (#Cardinals), Joe Gilbert (#Colts) and Jim Harding (#Utah). Davidson was the favorite.
Out of all the options we were hoping for.... Dodged a bullet there.....
I thought it was gonna be Harold Goodwin... Who was also OC there under Ariens... But we upgraded.. Not sure how the Cowboys let this dude walk
The coaching Hires we have made all look to be moving in the right direction... no young no names these guys have all put in time and had success at their coaching positions.
While we didn't get the new HC we all thought was coming.. we are really upgrading the supporting cast of coaches this offseason....
Which gives me hope we will be looking and bringing in talent come FA

And maybe some of these new guys can convince Merv how to make halftime adjustments and/or correct any of his other shortcomings. I know it's a stretch, but still, imagine how far we could go with Merv coaching like an honest-to-God NFL coach!

Just checking in to make sure this was really real. Holy shit!
Stunning development for Mike Brown to successfully hire the best o line coach available.
This is not Bungel like.
If we sign one or two very high quality free agents- and I hope a center is one is one of them- I may start having some hope again.

The Center position is looking rather lean, for the upcoming Free Agency crop.
