Truly great career.  He did his part.  Wasn't his fault.  HOFer anyway. Also, good, go away and don't come back.

He'll be 1st ballot HOF, thereby dispelling the myth that you have to have been on a winning team to make it.

Players don't even go in as a member of any team. They go in as individuals.

You might want to rephrase to "worst team" in NFL history for a decade period of time
Joe Thomas = the Willie Anderson of Cleveland.
May change their draft strategy.

But they knew this day was coming soon anyway so probably already was planning to draft future replacement.
