Isn't that about 82% of Bengal players?

I hope he does turn it around cause the team really does need him to show up. But he has to prove himself before I'll be a believer, even in a hopeful thread.

If used properly he could be a very explosive player. What I see is potential for a player in the mold of Andrew Hawkins (slants, screens, reverses etc), except Ross could be even better with his level of talent and speed. If he stays healthy the rest is up to him. If he works hard, he should have no problem being a solid pro or even a damn good one at that.

Working with Housh is a great start.

If he were to miss the entire season on IR then he'd have a better season than he had last year. Last year he ate a roster spot of someone who could have helped the team and he fumbled his only touch and he's a WR who was the #9 pick in the draft and the guy couldn't even make 1 catch.
It's not like he had a great college career or anything that would lead anyone to believe he's going to be great. He started 1 season. He missed 1 college season to injury. He was mainly a kick returner the other 2 seasons.
Ask yourself, if he had not run a 4.22 40 would you even believe he's starter material?

Even some of the all time great players throughout history have had their share of detractors and many just kind of age out and become remembered only for the last years when they couldn't keep up with the younger players.
I'm not saying he'll ever reach "all time great" status ,but if he does there will be people who will point only to the first season as being a flop and bust.

Boomer? Bengals fans hate on the guy all the time.
Dillon? Hated.
Pickens? Hated.
Dalton? Hated.
Chad? Hated.
Housh? Hated for a long time, seems to be fading now.
Eifert? Was getting hate even before he started getting injured all the time.
Kenny? Hated through most of his playing days.
We're ok with Munoz. I think. Unless Ross goes for 1000 and 10 this year, I don't think any of his bashers will change their mind. Even if he does, some still won't.

In the dark horse/dud thread I see people listing Ross as a dark horse hoping he'll push LaFell for playing time this year. That's awfully low expectations for a #9 overall pick isn't it?
The fact that no one is even talking about him earning a starting spot for game 1 this year tells you just how little people on this board expect from him.
What I want to see from him is getting on the field, making plays and helping the team win.
I didn't like the pick because I felt it was a mega reach by Mike Brown for a guy with one productive college season (in a weak defensed conference) and with a significant injury history. Just not the kind of guy I'd spend a top 10 pick on. Let someone else spend their first round pick on that guy and get a guy who's going to have impact sooooooooooon.
