I've heard both and I've literally heard both in the SAME 10 second clip, I swear to God.

They recorded both names with a high pass filter on one and a low pass filter on the other. Play it from your phone and stand across the room and you might be able to hear something different than when up close.

I heard Yanney all day. Sit down with wife? I hear laurel. Ugh.

How the hell can you hear Yanny?!

Did as well, at work they put me through the test without hearing it before and heard Laurel clearly. 

Then as he played it for others I was hearing Yanny, actually sounded like Yammy. Then as he played it over and over I started hearing both every cole times it would switch.

Both words are recorded and overlapped but at different frequencies. Believe if you hear Laurel you're hearing is older and worse.

I listened to it again and heard Yanny and I was so pissed that I figured it had to be a different recording.

Anyone who hears Laurel is an uncouth succotash.
