NFl fired Hugo Cruz, "for a consistent string of poor performance." This is the first time an official has been fired midseason in the Super Bowl era.
Hopefully this is a warning shot to other officials to get their act together. IMO, officiating across the league has been inconsistent and abysmal for too long. So it's good to see them being held accountable for once.
