The underrated Bengals Thread brought back some memories of the 90's...so I wanted to start a thread where we could share classic Bengals clips. Maybe the youngsters in here down remember some of these.
The 1st I'd like to share was Jeff Blake throwing deep passes to Pickens and Scott. While the 90's were a dark time for the Bengals, Pickens and Scott were quite a good WR Duo. Later in the decade they added Corey Dillon who was a great RB.
Corey Dillon runs for 278 yards against the Broncos. I believe the Broncos has the #1 run defense going into this game. And we had Akili Smith at QB who was pretty terrible passing. It would seem that the Broncos would just focus on the run, but that's not how it played out.
Dillon is another guy that if he played on another team is probably in the HOF. Just watch these clips. He had the speed to outrun guys and the power to run over guys...and he wanted to run over guys.
I remember seeing guys grab his ankles to tackle him and 2-3 guys running to try to tackle him and he'd just lower his shoulder and try to punish them.
From 1994 to 1999, Cincinnati Bengals wide receivers Carl Pickens and Darnay Scott combined to catch 788 passes, for 11,131 yards and 80 touchdowns. Along with quarterback Jeff Blake they formed one of the most electrifying offenses in the league.
