I'm guessing ZT wants Eifert to be in there for the red zone. Uz may be the starter between the 20s. We'll see.
I expect all 3 TEs to get a good amount of work. I think ZT's just trying to manage expectations for Eifert and let him get comfortable.

Could be that/trying to protect him? That will never work in the NFL. Maybe they are going to try and play smash mouth football. In that case Eifert is not the guy to be the extra blocker.
Depth charts are kind of meaningless once injuries begin piling up and Eifert is definitely no stranger to injuries.
I find it kind of interesting to see Cooper right behind Ross in the chart.. I have a feeling we'll see a lot more of Cooper than the Rams or Cards fans did in the past unless Ross suddenly learns to be healthy and hang onto the ball with consistency.

We're probably going to see a lot of 12 personal this season. Eifert will play a lot this year depending on health.
Teams have to release depth charts. If Ross goes down, Cooper isn't going to get all those snaps. They're going to put someone else in ahead of him. They're a necessary evil but they don't mean anything once the ball is snapped for the first time.
