Even the announcer knew kicking a long FG in pouring rain and wind is a bad idea. Plenty of leg on it... just a little outside.

I think they were going conservative and trying for the field goal. Heck I don't even mind a surprise run on 3rd and long now and again but you gotta make the field goal. Now we got nothing and they have decent field position.
