My wife was diagnosed as diabetic and after she had her AC1 (or whatever it's called) they said: "Good news, you're not diabetic, you're hypoglycemic". I have no idea what the difference is, she still has to monitor her diet, she just doesn't use medication. I have become her guinea pig, we will eat the same things and she will take my blood to see the different reactions.
On a similar note: My son'e fiancée is hypoglycemic. She has to have a soda or chocolate by her beside.
