I noticed that Fej didn't play a single snap on defense against the Rams. He did play on special teams.

Last year, Fej was rated as the #1 safety on PFF for part of the year.

Why not put him out there to stop the run?

Well he was a DB Coach with the Giants that got credit for some of their successes.
