Van Pelt is leaving to be OC in Cleveland. Could be a very important hire with Burrow heading to town in a couple months.
The media is saying they expect asst QB coach Dan Pitcher to be promoted
Damn, liked Van Pelt. Sad

Don't know anything about Pitcher, sounds like a Baseball guy lol
Just got home from work. When did this happen?

Seems kind of lazy, but hey, at least he’s not one of Zac’s college buddies. Van Pelt seemed like a solid guy, and was well regarded by the Packers organization. One wonders how much input he will have as Stefanski is expected to retain play calling duties.

Meh. Dalton regressed pretty badly under Van Pelt. Hard to not think it was mostly Aaron Rodgers in GB...

Thanks Pally, like hearing Pitcher did extremely well by all reviews in his job.

Need to be able to manage the game as a QB even if game manager has been labeled as a negative at times which is BS.

Brady managed games, to 6 Superbowl rings...

Well I liked Van Pelt's job he did with bad QB's like in Tampa. That what was impressive.

Also, Rodgers hated losing him. But I agree, Dalton regressed under him, hope Pitcher does a great job with Burrow.

Sure is a great prospect to work with like Rodgers.
Won’t miss Van Pelt. Crummy hire for the Browns even though he won’t be calling plays.

Bungles need to endure Burrow is comfortable with the new QB-C.

Indeed.

As Nate mentioned, he did do a decent job with the guys in TB (well, Freeman had *1* good year lol), but he did crap all in Buffalo and Andy looked arguably worse than ever, the past 2 seasons (not so much in 2018, but last year...).

Plus, Rodgers is Rodgers; he doesn't need ANY coaching lol
ZT and BC are both QB coaches with different titles.

Taylor already has too much on his plate. Let’s not add yet another title to his job description...
Promoting Dan Pitcher seems like a sound move. His development in the booth as a situational game management specialist puts him in a position to communicate well with (prospectively) Joe Burrow, and let him know what he's looking at from up top.

That might not sound like such a big deal at face value, but during the Zac Taylor interview/introduction to the team phase, he was highly touted as be big on communication. While 2-14 is a horrible start to a HC career, I'm not ready to fully dismiss him as incapable of assembing a staff and leading a team.

His Choice and only his.

Doesn’t really matter who’s choice it was. I just don’t want him taking on any more. In fact if he doesn’t drastically improve as a play caller, he’ll likely need to give that up.

Thank you for that.  Takes a little sting out.

Andy regressed last year, but the lack of healthy receivers and poor O-line play probably had a lot to do with that.

Somewhat comforting that a number of Taylor's coaches are being promoted around the league.
Hate to lose him to the Browns who seem like they are getting the coaching right for once.

I do think it's telling his buddy McCarthy never brought him on board.
I believe Hue Jackson is looking for an opportunity, has been a QB coach before, and his family still lives in Cincinnati. Ninja
