I believe the team should foot the bill for fines like this one. It would show the players the team supports aggressive play within the rules but understands when things like this happen.

Absolutely correct.

Maybe it's just me and I could be wrong but there should be a league rule that states: " If the player was NOT penalized on the field, they shouldn't be subjected to fines or punishment after the fact." If I were a spokesman for the player's union, that would be something I would bring up at the next contract negotiations.

That's a lot of $$$$ for poor folks like me.
