They're clearly a part of the gameplan and so time was invested practicing it this week; you run them at least a few times from different formations/against different defensive looks before you give up. Maybe something shows up to exploit or a constraint play looks viable. But this isn't Madden - you don't just forget what you practiced all week because it doesn't work twice.
