If you're looking for a young 3T in a potential Bates Trade ; then both Dallas and Philadelphia makes a lot of sense. Osa Odighizuwa(Dallas) or Milton Williams(Philly)would look good in stripes.

Even though it was a lesser talent deal, they traded a former first rounder in Price to the Giants for Hill and a draft pick.

It could happen if a team blew the Bengals doors off with an offer for a pick and a player.  No, there isn't a good chance of that happening, but it could.
Read into this what you will.

I take this as he isn't budging and isn't going to accept an offer unless it's on his terms lol

Nothing I hate worse about social media than the cryptic drama queen.

They want to say something but don't have the guts.

I dunno, you could take it as keep you head down and keep working and stay grounded as far as emotions over the deal.  Hard to say.

Last year this whole thing affected him throughout the regular season. You would think he would learn from his experience and move on whichever the outcome...

I feel like he hasn't learned a thing..

I feel like that's exactly what he said....

Oh they will definitely make a trade for a 3T at some point the only question I have is will Bates be in the deal.
Bates has to agree to be signed before he can be traded

That wasn't my interruption.

We will see in a couple of weeks what happens, will be clear cut at that point. The deadline will have passed and at that point over to negotiate, so he should show up to training camp and work...

Maybe it was a post about his actual play and that he's the anchor of the defense?

Maybe he's just saying he's going to keep being the anchor and do what he needs to do, regardless of the contract situation?

Maybe he has a boat and needs to anchor it.
Maybe he’s found Gillian’s Island.
I like bates. And I like they tagged him.

Hell tag him again if they want to and he’s earned it.

But is he even a top 5 safety in the nfl? No.

So
Short term I can see a little overpay for a franchise tag. But I’d put the long/big money elsewhere

Probably right.  I could see them sticking with what they have at WR, but not 3T.

I really hope it is just posturing and Jesse plays on the tag.
I'm sorry he messed up during his contract year, but he did. Good on him for coming around toward the last half of the season and the playoffs, but you don't get to play like ass for half a season and then call your self a top three safety. Of course he has every right to hold out for whatever payday he wants, but I have zero sympathy for him.

I bet this came from Bates agent because it is kind of deceptive.

Technically if Bates signs a long term deal his salary for 2022 is not fully guaranteed, but he gets paid even if he goes on IR with a season ending injury.  So it is pretty damn close to guaranteed.

So the Bengals could be offering a $17.5 million fully guaranteed signing bonus that he would get this year IN ADDITION TO his annual salary which is also pretty much guaranteed.

And that sounds about in line with the amount of guaranteed money the Bengals have given some of their other players.

Reader........... $20.5
Boyd.............. $17.3
Hendrickson... $16
Waynes.......... $15
We all knew this was coming. Another good player undone by a greedy agent.

OK….now we can work on Joe B’s contract with some wiggle room.

Best to you Jessie. Hope you find what you’re looking for and stay healthy and get to another Super Bowl.

The agent was asking for a fair deal the front office clearly low balled him according to reports.
