Today begins the off-season workout schedule for the veterans. Rookie camp starts on Friday. The Bengals are the last team to begin their voluntary workouts. They were coming off a long season and are anticipating a long one in 2022-2023. Zac's motto these days seems to be to work smarter not harder. If it helps prevent injuries and/or burnout, I'm all for it.
Last season the Bengals had 100% participation at a time when veterans across the league were openly boycotting voluntary workouts. This season, with the Jessie Bates contract situation, I doubt they will be so lucky. Will Bates be by himself? or will others join him in absenting themselves? I hope it's the first option.
