Some phrases still in use but have no practical reasoning for still being used.

"Rewind" the (tape, video...what-have-you)

"Fast forward" the tape/video

"Tape/video"

"Roll up the window"

"Hang up" the phone

"Dial" a number
"Honey, I forgot to tape the game. Will you set the DVR for me?"

"Sure, Grandpa, if you'll pick up a Saturday Evening Post for me."

Happens all the time at our house.

Yeah, that could be a typical sentence for the older folk.

Camera film.

I honestly found some film the other day in a camera case and showed my kids who are 5, 6, and 7 and they had no clue what the hell it was and I explained to them the concept of it and taking pictures to get developed. They were like "you mean you couldn't just plug it into the computer or upload them to the Internet when you took them?" I

I remember having to use that system, and citing sources and all that stuff. Do they even still use those cards at the library anymore (been awhile since I've been to one). I'm assuming it's all on computers now.
