Have to approach the remainder of the season with the presumption that Higgins is gone. And for those of you who think this is a “business decision” on his part, ask yourself this - would you want your favorite team to dedicate a bunch of guaranteed money to a guy who never plays? Please. Being inactive is costing him millions. He’s just not built for this.

Yoshi isn’t some destroyer of worlds. He’s serviceable and may become very good but he’s certainly not there.

Smart thing would be to get Burton in there. What the Bungles will do is nothing.

Jermaine Burton showed a lot of dynamic talent as a wide receiver at both Georgia and Alabama, enough that he was featured on many a top-50 overall prospects list for the 2024 NFL Draft. Yet Burton fell into the middle of the third round in part due to some pre-draft questions about his professionalism and work ethic.

The Cincinnati Bengals are learning the hard way that those pre-draft knocks sure seem legit. A report from Paul Dehner of The Athletic indicates that Burton has been a major disappointment thus far.

“Cincinnati did run into issues getting Burton on board and up to professional standards quickly,” Dehner writes. And then it gets worse for Burton, who many expected to play extensively as a rookie in Cincinnati.

How ready does he need to be to run a Go Route?  He is the 2nd best receiver on the team, coaches are paid millions to figure it out.  This kid isnt sitting the bench in KC.

My son sent me the funniest post on twitter. It said that the google search history of Bengals ownership has been leaked and had as one of the searches "Ja'Marr Chase versus Andre Iosivas: key differences explained." 

Another google search was: "Do you need WRs in modern NFL?"

Very, if you can't trust him. We saw with Ross if you aren't trusted to run your route (key word RUN) and be in the right spot every time, you aren't ready for even a go route.

Tbf being the 2nd best with Tee out just means he’s probably better than a couple day 3 picks that haven’t proven anything themselves, and Irwin.

And Iosivas ran a lot of the wrong routes last season, yet they kept playing him. Literally every play he made was off of a scramble.

Lol, the competition isnt that high with Tee out. 

It was the preseason vs scrubs, but I saw the #1 ranked WR for a couple of weeks.  He played at a very high level for Georgia and Alabama.  

He might be a head case, but this front office drafted him and these coaches are paid a ton to get players ready.  

BTW, you declaring him Jerome Simpson before he gets to play is a stretch as well.

This, and many of the plays Yoshi made last season were off of scrambles, especially the TDs.

Iosivas has 6 targets (tied Chase), had three catches , zero drops i believe, i thought ran some effective routes. From all accounts had one of the best camps so Im not ready to say he can't be a decent replacement for Higgins, lets give him 4 games for a fair evaluation.

It is funny that most of us think we were "loaded" at WR and now we're having WR problems for a variety of reasons.

And yeah, I'm tired of Zac Taylor not playing rookies. Play your damn rookie. They don't get better on the sideline, he's just delaying it.

Rookies are unpredictable and teams aren't as ready to defend or prepare for them.

I'm annoyed with Zac, take responsibility in your losses. You are paid way too much to just sit there. Frankly, I expect no family life from him. lol

Well, Tee is the 2nd best WR on the team, though Burton is arguably more talented.

We also haven't seen anything that indicates he's running wrong routes or not running them hard.  He didn't do either in preseason.  He looked like what you'd expect would happen if you put Chase or Tee out there against scrubs in the 4th quarter of a preseason game.

I get there's obvious maturity issues, but are we hurting the other 52 guys on the team by burying him on the depth chart to try and teach him tough love?  I mean, Antonio Brown was always late for meetings and a PoS human being.  He still balled out.

If the offense was humming, it's a non issue, but Faux-Shi, Chuck Drizzle, and Turd-win played like trash on Sunday.

There are only like 20-24 WR that can match the production of a healthy tee Higgins. I seriously doubt Yoshi is going to be that guy. More likely someone behind Chase/higgins can hopefully step up and be a 50-60 catch and 500-600 yard guy with a handful of TDs.

The reality is, against popular opinion, our WR room outside of the top 2 is severely unproven . Everyone clamoring this position was deep was completely blinded. It’s not far off of our CB room. Once you get to WR3/CB3 and on… it’s not great.

Who is arguing Burton is more talented than Tee? He was less productive in college. He was drafted after Higgins. I think burton should be, and have been, the WR3.
