Saw today that my favorite Red of all time finally gets to go to Cooperstown. He got in on the Classic Baseball Era comittee ballot alongside Phillies great Dick Allen.

Parker was a Cincinnati native. He won an MVP with Pittsburgh before signing as a FA with the Reds. He was an imposing figure with big time power and a cannon arm in RF. He was also part of a cocaine scandal in Pittsburgh that undoubtedly damaged his chances of getting in sooner.

Always good to see a Red get in, and especially nice to see Parker in particular.
I was surprised, but also happy to see him get into the HoF. I'm glad he'll get to enjoy the honor before he passes since he's getting older.
Congrats to Dave, he was one of my favorites.

Great news and well deserved. Someone who went to Reds Spring Training when he was w the team said he never saw any human being more supremely confident doing anything than Dave Parker on a baseball diamond. Nuxhall called the big man Parkway, and I know Nux and Marty loved him. Thanks for posting this. Brings me joy
Great to see, congrats Dave. Loved him as a Red
