I'm confused as well. But trent green was calling for it as well. Maybe it puts pressure on the to run it or be conservative to kill the clock?
Bengals get the ball to start 2nd half so that makes the time out even dumber. Let it run out and don’t risk a defensive penalty to get them a chance at points

gonna need the D to keep it up in the 2nd half
and the offense is going to need to finish. Bengals should be up by 7 at the very least

Payton’s call was worse. Just kneel and end the half. An incomplete pass stops the clock. No benefit to throwing. But he did.
Yeah I thought the Broncos called it at first, because thats logical if they had one. Anyways at least it didnt backfire
