TBH i quit hoping back before halloween. I hate the fact that when it doesn't matter anymore the bengals just start winning when it doesn't matter. then they reel everyone back in. only to ultimately fail b/c too little too late. a shame b/c we have the MVP of the league. and the triple crown WR not to mention the sack leader. you just can't make this shit up man lol. my god in heaven.

I, for one, really enjoyed the last five games and watching Burrow and Chase set records. In the end, it's entertainment.

I used to be concerned about draft position -- when the Bengals were perennial losers and the draft was our Christmas morning. But after decades of terrible drafts, despite picking higher than half the league, I just don't get so enamored of where the Bengals pick. This year proved enjoyable, largely thanks to players like Burrow, Chase, and Hendrickson.

Fans did the same last year when we had a backup QB and supposedly was in the playofff hunt. So we couldn’t hope to tank. Then whined as their faves were picked before 18 in each round of the draft. Those morale victories that proved the team had grit or didn’t give up meant nothing but no changes and tougher draft for the scout department.

You kind of undercut your point by mentioning two players we drafted at #1 and #4 overall.  

This franchise with a handful of extra wins in 2019 and 2020 would be pretty damn grim right now.

People whine. That's what they do. For the draft, they do this with anything other than the first pick. Look at that whining when Chase was picked over Sewell with the fifth pick.

Did you look at the early season fluke type of losses? Both Balt games, KC,NE, and SD could have easily went our way. We only needed one of those. The defense was shite but began to play better down the stretch. The young DBs that didn't get injured gained some much needed experience. This is a playoff caliber team, without question.

We just beat two AFC playoff teams in the past couple of weeks. We gave another 3 playoff teams all that they could handle in KC, Balt, and SD. 

I get you on the FO, I get that. Wtbs, Bates and Reader's leaving are the main two losses that they weren't able to mitigate via FA and the draft.

Agree ! Catastrophic free agency Rankins and Stone were awful. Then there’s the drafts. Who’s the last offensive linemen we’ve developed? We keep having to spend big on FA linemen because we can’t draft them. The Defense was historically bad most of the year look at all the picks invested on that side of the ball and look at there production What does Myles Murphy do ? Then there’s the trying to low ball and win every deal bitting them in the ass. They could have signed Chase before the year and now it cost them a ton. Also maybe they could have extend guys like Bates , Higgins and Hendrickson for a good deal early vs. waiting till the last minute. Having two of your best players Hendrickson and Higgins demand trades before the season is a bad look and bad mojo for the team. Like Burrow said don’t let good players walk. I guarantee Burton was this front offices replacement for Higgins and maybe him being a moron before Tee walks might make them reconsider that draft picks can’t replace this guys that coupled with the Bates thing blowing up in there face as well.

This next draft seems devoid of studs, which puts the onus on the scouting department to identify players with good scheme fit and subtle traits that may be overlooked. With the league’s smallest scouting department, we know that ain’t happening. The best thing that could happen would be for Mike and the kids to sell the team to someone who wants to win AND keep the team in Cincy. We’ve had over 30 years of Mike’s bumbling to know odds are it ain’t gonna magically work out.

With the lone exception of a late injury lasting into next season, this couldn’t have ended any worse. They won enough games to give Mike and Katie an excuse to not make any moves coaching wise and they won’t being drafting high enough to get an impact player.

A fluke is a bad break once in a while this team lost 8 games because they’re fatality flawed. They can’t project the QB because the guard play is horrific , the defense stinks and the kicking game was a disaster. We beat Cooper Rush and Dallas because they blocked a punt and they touched it lol, the Titans scored 27 on us the worst team in the league. The defense giving up a Td to Denver in the last minute was a joke. Far as the young guys outside of Mckiney Jackson I don’t see a ton of optimism. What does Myles Murphy do ? I think Battle is a good tackler but he’s a complete liability in coverage. Cam Britt is one of the corners he’s a 2nd rd. Pick in year 3 and is one of the worse CB’s in football. Ossai finally decides to rush the passer in year 4 in the last few games of the season ? Idk I’m just not buying in I think Newton can be a decent backup CB.

*Hard to put All in there at this point as I think he’ll have a VERY tough road ahead of him to come back from 2 ACL tears in the same leg.

We beat one good team, in my opinion, and that's the Broncos. I have us riding the Steelers death spiral to the last win, we almost bungled away.
