What if you swapped Hendrickson for Landry? Callahan knows Hendrickson. Landry is younger and more in line with the bengals investing in a player of that age.

Yes, but look specifically at the birthDATES:
Hendrickson - 30 years, 84 days old (12/5/1994)
Landry - 28 years, 267 days old (6/5/1996)
Landry will be 29 by the time he starts training camp. Hendrickson won't turn 31 until close to the end of the year.
I wouldn't trade for him, odds are he will be cut.
That said, when he came out of BC he played with his hand in the dirt a lot. I know they have had him do both in TEN. I think he would be a solid second option but not sure I am trading anything for him to pay him 17.5 million a year.

no since not much difference in age and just feel Tre is a better player
Why is everyone so hot to trade the hottest DE in the league? We don't need to trade him, we need to draft his bookend.
Landry is decent, but doubt he fits unless with the addition of Desai we are going to more of a 3-4 which I find to be way too much to
do in one offseason with our current players. This is a great Draft for DL, I think we can find both a quality End and DT or two in this
Draft. So many good ones to be had and with our new Defensive staff we might be able to scout them better and coach up our youth.
I would give Trey a 2 or 3 year extension, add Josh Sweat or another End that fits a 4-3 in FA and Draft another End to improve our
EDGE.

Sweat is gonna command prob 20/yr they're not gonna extend Trey and pay another DL guy 20/yr with a deep draft class like this no way.

20 per year huh? Yeah, that seems a little spendy for us while we are extending Trey and needing to get a couple Guards in FA on top of our
big Ja'Marr extension. Still, a 4-3 End in FA that is proven would be nice. Not giving up on Murphy yet but so far he surely isn't the answer. I
am of course for bringing back Ossai but he isn't the answer either IMO.
Luckily it is a great draft for adding to the DL.

Spotrac says 18.8 so close enough. But bringing back Ossai on the cheap would be good depth piece.

You can save money at the guard and defensive end positions by cutting Cappa and Hubbard and use that money on the free agents replacing them. Cutting Cappa would save you 8 million in cap space. James Daniels has a projected market value of
7.8 million. Mekhi Becton has a projected market value of
10.2 million. Kevin Zeitler has a projected value of
9.2 million which I find a little high. All of these market values are close to what you would get by cutting Cappa. You could easily swap out Cappa for a better guard and have little impact on overall cap space.
Cutting Hubbard would save you about 9.5 million so getting a better replacement DE would probably cost you a bit of that available cap space.

Sorry yea I meant closer to just a year younger when the season starts.
Landry has a June birthday, so he'll be 29 when the season starts whereas Trey won't turn 31 until early Dec.

Cool. Not against paying Sweat that if we could afford it though and I think bringing back Ossai is pretty essential regardless.
Should be cheap and he is more proven than Murphy after last year.
