NE have the tie breaker by virtue of their win over Houston and our loss to them.

NE lost to Denver. If we beat Denver isn't that tie breaker better than the Houston tiebreaker?

How is that so?  We both have two losses in conference, and one loss to the NFC.  Seems pretty even.
I believe we would because that means we would have beaten denver and they lost to them.
We would be tied on conference record, so it goes to Common Opponents.

There are more common games than the Denver one.

Pittsburgh: NE Win, Cin Win & Loss
Denver: NE Loss, Cin Win
Houston: NE Win, Cin Loss
Buffalo: NE Win & Win, Cin Win

Means NE are 4-1 and we are 3-2 against common opponents.  Therefore NE wins the tiebreaker.
