The missed tackles are a thing of being game ready and being tested in the preseason, which would get players up to speed and ready to go from the opening whistle.
The turnovers are also a big thing when you're talking about knowing your teammates tendencies and things that make it easier to get comfortable and not take care of the ball or not take care of it in a way to protect outside of what you're used to your teammates doing.
Also being in a more game-like atmosphere of regular season games in the preseason in contrast with no crowds or anything during practices helps.

The starting OL needs to play into the second quarter. Have we not seen enough of the OL showing up on opening day looking like they all just met each other in the parking lot that morning?
I'm not at all suggesting that the Starters should be "worked hard" in preseason, but getting everyone on the same page eliminates a lot of bugs on opening day. Besides, we have a team that hasn't reached the playoffs for two years straight, they could use the extra work..
Spot on as usual Sunset. Plus players can get hurt in practice and training camp just the same as preseason games.

He had 10 REC for 97 Yards and 0 TDs total in their first two games of 2024 vs KC and NE - both losses.
They need to play more in the preseason, all of them.

Wrong.
Burrow wasn't good.
The OL wasn't good.
The run defense wasn't good.
Tanner Hudson and Charlie Jones both fumbled.
Nobody not named Ja'Marr Chase had more than 26 yards receiving.
THOSE are the reasons they lost to the Patriots last year.

Yep, it was a bunch of reasons. Not just Ja'Marr for sure.

In other words...they were not ready to start the season.....at all.

And they come out looking like they don't even want to be there.
Last year, Ja'Marr saying "we'll see" if he plays in the opener and then Tee getting hurt and missing the game at the last minute put a serious black cloud over the opener.
Do they need to play and practice more in the pre season? Lets see:
Chase first two games of 2024 after sitting the entire camp. 5 catches, 48 yards and 0 TDs per game avg.
Chase next 15 games of 2024: 10.1 catches, 107 Yards 1.2 TDs per game avg.

Hmmm... let me see if I can remember..... something was going on with Burrow's wrist at the time... what was it again?
Regardless, the Browns look like an XFL team, the Steelers are probably going to let Aaron Rodgers show up 5 minutes before the opener and spend the first two months of the regular season learning his WR corps' names, and the Ravens always seem to lose to a random assortment of bad NFL teams that help us out.
Toss in that Burrow can win 10+ in a row at any given point, and hell how worried can you actually get about another ZT start to the season?

You dont even know what point you are trying to make, lol
Like I said, Burrow played well in week 1 and 2. Thanks for agreeing with me.
Chase was severely underutilized since his week 1 status was in Jeopardy because he held out until 40 hours before the NE Game. He did not run a single route more than 10 yards down the field.
He was also underutilized in week 2 vs KC as he was getting back into playing shape.

The rose colored glasses around here is astonishing. Chase literally said the opposite of what the title of this thread says. He doesn’t want to play preseason. Which means Tee doesn’t, and burrow probably doesn’t either.
We upgraded our team with Patrick whatever at RG and people here think we’re a superbowl team. Our defense is going to be bottom 5 again. We should have upgraded DE, S, CB. And we didn’t. We possibly get worse at DE with no Hendrickson and no first round player practicing. That guy was a massive gamble and I believe we’re getting some foreshadowing here.
Remember when ppl freaked out Chase couldn’t catch like 2 balls in training camp? This first round pick can’t even lace up.

"I could say I wasn't mentally ready to be on the field," Chase said on Tuesday. "I was in my own head. You know what I'm saying? I wanted to play, but I was in my own head."
LOL.
Of course it did and he admitted to it. But you are acting like Ja'Marr was the biggest and only reason for our slow start.
There were tons of other factors in why we lost the first game to the Patriots, not just Ja'Marr sitting out all TC and preseason.
