I questioned the pick at the time but I am all in on Fairchild.

It was a great start albeit against Eagles backup DL. I am hopeful, but we will know more this week if Commandors play their starters. He is a rookie, I think he will up have ups and downs, I just hope more ups than downs.

Tate Ratledge:
G, 24 snaps, 9 rblk, 15 pblk. 65.3 overall grade. 63.8 rblk grade. 63.4 pblk grade. Gave up 1 hurry for 1 total pressure.
Dylan Fairchild:
G, 16 snaps, 5 rblk, 11 pblk. 89.5 overall grade. 84.9 rblk grade. 81.2 pblk grade. Gave up 0 pressures.

I hope he continues to be better than Ratledge.
I still remember the draft board experts trashing us for not grabbing him verus Knight. It sure would be awesome if we hit on 3 or 4 picks last year, it would go a long way towards our future rosters.

Jury will be out until the end of the season, but he's been my favourite pick this year for a reason. He locked up Robinson (my favourite player in the draft this year) the whole time he was in there.

That is a damn good stat line.

This makes me smile. Thanks Rfaulk. We are going to compare these 2 for the rest of their careers. Great start by Dylan and he does have longer
arms and stays lower than Tate which is essential in being a good OL in the NFL. Peters might be a good OL coach eh?

Brings a tear to my eye...thinking back to the good ole Zeitler vs DeCastro debate.

I mean, percentages say we are due to find a decent interior OL some year, right?

It's almost impressive at this point we have been so bad at it.

Yep, both were late 1st round picks. These 2 rookies are a 2nd and 3rd round pick. Zeitler was only 1st round guard we picked and both were good. Zeitler is still good.

Well not a starter, but glad he did it against a fellow rookie with promise.

Ty Robinson will be a starter soon enough. I didn't think we would draft a DT after drafting too last year but Robinson was one I would of been
fine with drafting. Think he will be a stud, Fairchild handling him is a great sign.

Preseason gives some insight, but I'll save any over-the-top praise until we see how he is partway through the regular season.
That will be the real test, as teams won't be rotating in backups, won't be running more vanilla defenses, will actually care about winning, etc.
I will say though, it's nice to see he didn't crash and burn.

Robinson would indeed be a starter on many teams though and will be first guy up if any Eagles DT goes down at some point.

I would like to have both of these guys on the team! Lucas Patrick had a 37.1 PFF blocking grade against the Eagles!

I might get crucified for this, but in this video of Fairchild, Lucas doesn't look 37.1 bad?

There were really only 2 plays Patrick that were bad from Patrick. And they were BAD. The first one was a near whiff in pass pro where Burrow still got the ball away and converted a 3rd down. The 2nd was the penalty, which we overcame.
Neither bit us, but both could have.

You are correct, but that penalty never should've been called.
