Can a status hearing and jury trial happen on the same day?

Kentucky Court of Justice website has them both scheduled for tomorrow at 9:00.

Talked to a lawyer friend and he said they were likely just pre-trial motions to try and settle without going to court or anything.  

Now, the Kentucky Court of Justice has three listings for charges, but nothing specific (just says Commonwealth vs *His Name*), and no dates for trial or anything, so doesn't look like they worked out any deals.

Pretty sure he's screwed.
