Full Version: Why is Jeff Driskel still on the roster?

Are the Bengals eyeing a trade? I literally see no point in them having Jeff Driskel unless they aren't feeling good about the o-line guarding Andy and think that he has a good chance of injury due to the hits he's been taking.

Why else would we have cut DeShawn Williams instead of Jeff Driskel, a 3rd-string QB.
They like his physical tools and they're holding him for an extended look. He's probably the biggest piece of evidence that McCarron will likely be shopped come March. It's a low risk move. The 53rd man rarely plays anyway.

Who is Jeff Driskel?

Yep, a McCarron trade has to happen or Bengals will just let him walk for nothing in return after next season.

Sex appeal.

They don't want to be caught flat footed again and have to pass up on a great trade because there isn't a plan b. Unfortunately the Vikings/Oakland situation doesn't come around all that often and they won't get a mega offer again. Too little too late.

Just go ahead and trade Macaroni to Cleveland already.

It's in the division, but with that Browns O-line his career will be ended quicker than our own sieve line.

C'mon Hue...

Baby needs another high round CB !

Yep...or simply they're grooming him as our backup QB once McCarron leaves.

It's not a terrible idea...I just don't know if Driskel will pan out.

That was my thought.  We'll trade AJ in the offseason and have a guy with time in the system already, eliminating the need to draft a guy.
