Lamar Might be Better Than Burrow |

I don't take this lightly, but I've heard murmurs about this over the years and I'm starting to think that it could be the case.
Another exhibit pointing to this reared its head this week. Jackson, on the road against a defense /w Chris Jones and Trent Mcduffie, drove the ball down to tie it only to fall short by a toe.
Joe Burrow, with an opportunity to do the same against a lesser defense, looked like Daniel Jones out there.
Burrow is supposed to be HIM. We're certainly paying him like he is. He definitely acts like he is with his trips to Paris looking like a big-time playa. Why isn't he making these plays against lesser teams?

1-10.
That’s Zac Taylor’s current record over the past six years in the first two games of the regular season; I fear Kansas City will make it 1-11 next week. Not many 0-2 teams make it to the playoffs.
I’m afraid Zac’s legacy will be one of unpreparedness. He needs the starters to play more in the preseason from now on. The ONE time the Bengals won their opening game of the season under Zac they went to the Super Bowl.

Lost to the Bills 31-0 on opening day. They would go on to lose only 1 more game the rest of the season and win the Super Bowl.
This help anyone?
Yeah, didnt think so, but I tried.

That's the only word I can use to describe the day.
The Run Defense: Assberries
Dax Hill: Assberries.
Myles Murphy: Assberries.
Andy Burrow: Assberries.
I don't understand how the team could be this assberryish against the worst team in the league.

Plenty of blame to go around in the Pats loss, but the back-to-back dropped TD/fumble by Gesicki and Hudson were just absolute killers. These dudes are not it. Career practice squad guy, and yet another one year reclamation project. You’d think they would have learned after Irv Smith.
I sure hope they’re planning on getting Erick All involved sooner rather than later.

Bengals out-coached in openers |

It’s my theory that the bengals have been out-coached in season openers.
Evidence: bengals are the more talented team.
Bengals had no answer for new England’s scheme and couldn’t prevent them from winning using their run game/defense strategy.
Solution: find a way to utilize skill players to open up their defense.
Reality: failure in this regard decided the game.
Same result as previous openers where the offense just didn’t get going at all.
Bengals maybe didn’t anticipate how the pats would attack defensively?
Typically the bengals are a start late finish late team.
I’m not overly concerned right now.
I expect them to respond well.
They may lose next week too.
But they should heat up mid season as always.
To me this game the bengals didn’t have a lot of openings on offense and a better game plan could have resulted in more success.
Side note: good job by the patriots with the game plan and the execution. Maybe they will be a middle of the pack team this year.
Bottom line: bengals had the opportunity to start with a win against a less talented team at home and got out coached.

Notes From The Game |

I thought the defense looked shitty.
The offensive line, aside from a few plays, I thought pass blocked pretty well.
Sad that we didn't see any(?) deep balls to Chase.
If Hudson doesn't fumble that ball, we score and it's an entirely different game. Mental mistakes that we can't have.
I'm so mad right now that I'm fuming and can't think straight, but what were your notes from the game?

Let’s hear it for the Bengals’ punter! Ryan Rehkow has all the touch of a lovesick orangutan but he can boom it! When was the last time the Bengals made an opposing punt returner backpedal at top speed?

Not sure Tee would have been a huge impact today, but the offense looks very stagnant without him. His agent probably liked seeing that final score.
