A lot of coach speak with not a whole lot of information. But, here are the highlights
-new contract happened very quickly and was finalized yesterday. He and the Browns were on the same page
-named everyone in operations as part of his thanks for the team success
-the reception from the fans at PBS was heartwarming
-still early to confirm staffing as many new staffs are being put together throughout the league. Golden is the only confirmed departure
-JoeyB has a sprained MCL he needs R&R
-CJ's injury was a 4-8 week injury if in the regular season. He would likely have gone on IR
-refused to call out the offensive line-said they were good enough to get them to the Super Bowl and that the entire offense must improve to cut down on the sacks. I would have been shocked to hear him say anything else
-Perrine was in on the last play because there wasn't enough time to sub him out without burning the last time out. He was in the game because he is a better pass protector than Mixon is
-he very much wants Jessie Bates with the Bengals next season
-they have everything they need in terms of facilities to succeed

ylor also touched on:
_Injuries: Quarterback Joe Burrow won't need surgery on his dislocated throwing pinky or his sprained MCL in his right knee. He also doesn't think tight end C.J. Uzomah needs surgery on his sprained MCL after playing 80 percent of the snaps in the Super Bowl.
"That's a four-to-eight week injury,' Taylor said. "The fact he came back from it in two speaks to his toughness and character."
_ On Burrow getting sacked 70 times between the regular season and postseason: "We just have to be better as a unit … I think that we'll just look to improve the team any way that we can and not specific to one necessary group. The offensive line helped us get to the Super Bowl. They gave us opportunities to go win the Super Bowl. Everything always falls on them statistically, but that's not always the case. There are play calls that could be better to help put them in a better position. There is a lot that plays into all that. They were an offensive line that helped us get to the Super Bowl and gave us opportunities to win and I think they should be commended for that."
_On Samaje Perine carrying the ball on third-and one in the last drive and not Joe Mixon:
"We were in 2-minute mode and Samaje has done a great job. His role has really been as a protecting back and a lot of the things that come with that, off of that. It's one of those situations where I called the play a little later on the clock. And so, I was the one that said leave him in there. Justin Hill, our running backs coach, asked if we wanted to make a change. I said, just leave Samaje in there.
"Obviously, it didn't work out for us. Whether Joe is in there or not, he's certainly deserving of the opportunity in a key moment in a key game to try to get it for us as our featured back. But again, that's just one of the decisions you make in the moment and you've got to move forward with it. There's other things I certainly could have done over the course of the game that would have put us in a better position. Unfortunately, we couldn't get it done."
_On re-signing free safety Jessie Bates III: "He's a big part of what we do. We're really proud of how he's led this team and how he's played for us, really over the last four years. Those are conversations that will always be ongoing. I think everyone knows we want Jessie to be a part of this, and we'll just continue to work through those discussions."

Typical Zac as he takes the hit on Perine and makes damn sure he protects his running back coach Justin Hill. That was a mistake but I mean really the bigger mistake was they had 5 blocking 4. They should have forced Donald to the inside where Hopkins picks him up. But really if Burrow steps up Sooner he has time to hit Higgins.

Here comes the "the o-line got us to the Super Bowl" rationale we know and love.

I can’t remember a time where Taylor has thrown players under the bus, especially right after a game. I imagine this is coach speak. If they really believe it and do nothing then they should all complete psychological evaluations.

It is a silly response in the sense that it can be said about any position group on the team. Of course the OL contributed to the Super Bowl run stemming from the fact they were actually on the team. It doesn't mean the position group can't improve. I guess Zac does have to be careful in case the '21 - '22 OL are all returning for the '22 - '23 season. It wouldn't be a good look to suggest new talent is needed to only end up not getting it and then having to coach up the returning guys. I get it, Zac has to be careful with his words since roster changes have not yet occurred.
Hopefully, behind the scenes he's letting Duke know it's time to fix the problem.

Very rational response and you'd be 100% correct.

Winning coach is praised for "not throwing players under the bus".
Losing coach is crucified for "no accountability".

Remember '11 when we signed a starting OG in free agency (Deuce Latui) but the deal fell apart over a failed physical? Imagine how Marvin felt after that trying to sell the line "We don't need any upgrades at guard".

Pretty much. He never took shots at the defense, then sacked most of them and started over.

Can't say I recall the '11 free agency wooing of Deuce, but I don't doubt that Marvin, Zac, and many head coaches have to balance how they publicly talk about their players as they navigate roster building from season-to-season and throughout a season. It's probably not best to suggest your current guys are terrible until you have a solid replacement lined up.

Basically Zac is saying he is to blame - bad play calls, late play calls, keeping Sam in at RB.
I agree with him, he coached poorly in the biggest game of his career.
I get the coach speak but we all know that the Oline didn’t get us to the SB, we got there in spite of the Oline.
If this is not coach speak and the FO does not make drastic changes on the Oline this new found love fest with the fans and the media will immediately come crashing down.

I'd wager Vernon Hargreaves is held accountable, and not re-signed.

....and even then, you gotta be careful about burning bridges. Injuries can make you look for help you don't necessarily want.

Fair point, but some of our OL are so bad I'm okay if Zac scorched earths the freaking bridges to the Stone Age.

This is why people like Eli Apple and Vernon Hargreaves will always land on a team (while they still rely on natural athleticism)

I just can't pass up an opportunity to hate on Eli
