It's nice the Bengals continue to take the high road and try to get in their good graces, but it's time to just give up and stick it to the league whenever they can by beating all the darlings they deem preferable to highlight.

Lol come on.. is it really disrespectful not be given the black Friday game every year? There are two teams in the NFL that are given two games a year (cowboys & lions). If we're disrespected, than so are the other 30 teams in the NFL

In one of the schedule threads, I mentioned the Bengals/Steelers should be Black Friday. before the schedule was revealed The Fins are about as far away from Black as you can get.
WTS, IDT they should have a monopoly on it.

Agree. Cracks me up that some people really believe there is some kind of conspiracy against the Bengals at the league office. It's as if Goodell is in charge of framing up the schedule and influences against the Bengals. Good grief give it up already.
Now if the players want to use as motivation great... but I doubt they've even considered it. Want more prime time games? Make and then win in the playoffs like the last couple of years. Simple.

I agree this move was not disrespectful, But let's not pretend we're less than 6 months away from the league office making an unprecedented move to screw the Bengals in favor of the Ravens. There's not a conspiracy against the Bengals but there is a bias toward the bigger markets/ richer owners.

They went out of their way specifically to screw the Bengals and only the Bengals. As a result, the starters could not be rested in the final regular season game and Alex Cappa got injured. We all saw how the backup o-line did against the Chiefs. The NFL’s decision to screw the Bengals absolutely worked out in the long run.

It would be really weird for the league to to start a new tradition where one team plays on a certain day every year. Kind of odd the Bengals even asked.
The Thanksgiving games have been grandfathered in since the beginning of time.

Pretty sure the league has their biases. To what extent, I'm not sure. But there is 100% some favoritism.

This should change. They weren't promised forever.

The Lions started playing on Thanksgiving in the 1930s, with the Cowboys joining them about 30 years later. At both times the league and the TV biz were very different animals from today, so the grandfathering made sense. In this instance though, it's the correct decision by the league and no one should have a monopoly on this new game.
Those who wanted the Bengals to host the game exclusively might want to ask themselves what their rection would have been had the league gave a permanent hosting gig for this game to the Steelers.
Exactly.

Sure did. Bet we go to the SB with Cappa in the lineup against KC.
Don't agree with the OP that the NFL disrespected us by not giving us a home Black Friday game every year, but they screwed us big time
in favor of the Ravens, Bills and Chiefs leading up to the Playoffs this year and it isn't even a question. To think otherwise is a bit perplexing.
Even stealer fans acknowledge we were screwed by the NFL...
Imagine if the coin flip actually happened because we lost to the Ravens in that last regular season game?

Most fans long suspected there was a league bias against the Bengals. For me, that whole ordeal was hard evidence.

Yes sir STC, before that it was mainly only suspicion. But that was a blatant screw the Bengals move by the NFL.

The aftermath of 2015 solidified the notion for me. For starters, Shazier should've been flagged for the hit on Bernard, then definitely flagged for taunting afterwards. Jerry Porter should've been flagged, and offsetting penalties even the score. Munchack getting a fine for pulling Reggie Nelson's hair, only to have it quietly retracted before the 2016 season was icing on the cake.

The league apparently considered placing the Steelers-Bengals match up on Black Friday or placing a home game in Vegas. Amazon, however, wanted it in the nation's biggest retail market. Follow the money

How many have other Super Bowl appearing and Conference Championship teams had prior to the Bengals? Charges and JETS have 6 this year... and you applauding 4. We only had what 3 last year.... Folks math is funny given up until this season 1 of those (Thursday) was automatic.
Also are you comparing our record to the Browns? Why else would we be sound like them if not?
Cinci provides a great primetime environment and the Jungle has been on fire the last couple years. We just trying to highlight it and bring money and recognition to the City.
