5 straight

Does only making the playoffs 2 out of the last 5 years, and not being able to make it 3 straight shine a better light on the 2011-2015 run.

How likely will it be that we ever break that streak?

Losing Burrow provides a huge asterisk, especially since we were so close to making the playoffs without Burrow.

The 5 year run with zero wins isnt awesome.

AFC is way more competitive now than 10 years ago. Way more teams can actually make play off runs now.

You have to get there tho to even have a shot at it.

Having 5 shots at it is better than 2.

Is it really? That’s debatable.

Not if you are limping into the play offs, which they were in most of those appearances.

At least 12 AFC teams have legit a legit shot at making a deep run into the play offs every year with surprise teams showing up. It wasn’t like that 10 years ago

I'll take 5 playoffs wins, 2 AFCCG's and a SB appearance over 5 straight one and done's any day.

I said shine a better light. I already know folks poo poo the run.

A nod to the tough streak of appearances.

Which we may never see again.

Sure wit the extra playoff game, and 17 games to try to make it. But that makes it easier to make it. Not tougher.

No that is because there were dominant teams plus we forget during that run 6 teams got in not 7, was an impressive run

The phrase no brainer doesn’t do it justice even. Of course you would. Despite this year. The Bengals have been in the discussion all through the season and playoffs. During that 5 year run not as much because of the quick exits
Romo “ so impressed with Zac ...1 of the best in the NFL… they are just fundamentally sound. Taylor the best winning % in the Playoffs of current coaches. Joe Burrow” Zac is the best head coach in the NFL & that gives me a lot of confidence." Taylor led the Bengals to their first playoff win since 1990, ending the longest active drought in the four major North American sports, en and appeared in Super Bowl LVI, the first since 1988.

I'm proud of both feats.

I agree with Holic that this run has been much more satisfying/impressive. After the first couple of the Dalton playoff years we just wanted one lousy win and never got it. At the end of the streak it was kind of a joke and expected that they would be one and done even in games where they were favored.
This current team won multiple playoff games in both of their post season appearances.

This is the most significant point. The AFCN is the toughest division in the NFL now. There are no cupcakes. We now have to compete with 3 other teams for the division.

They, "limped," in once.

4 of the 5, every year we had our spot secured with a game to go at least.

NFC 7 teams under .500
AFC 6 teams under .500
AFCN all 4 teams over .500

AFC was definitely stronger Conference with AFCN being strongest division in the entire NFL.

You’re not serious? Baltimore is the AFC number 1 seed and Lamar likely MVP. They’ve had a hell of a year. The Browns won 11 games.

The afc has a bunch of mediocrity. None of those teams can compete with the top of the NFC

I’m saying the afc north is better than it was during the 11-15 Dalton years. And that’s because the browns are better now than they were a decade ago
