That had to be a hard decision to take Mims. With Hubbard coming off injury and Hendrickson asking for a trade (Verse). Tee asking for a trade (Thomas). A quality CB still on the board (Mitchell). Another decent OT on the board (Fautanu).

Just couldnt hate the Mims pick
Steelers just picked a guard, not an OT. He is not projected to be a RT or LT in the NFL.
2024 may go on record as one of most underperforming teams in Bengal history. Bengal's FO has major work to do on defensive side of the ball. I say tag and trade Tee Higgins in 2025 to start with the rebuild.

Hope I’m wrong but I just don’t believe in Pollack.
Then Pollack is the problem, not the Mims pick.
And no matter who we picked, Trent Brown was still the short term starter.

Umm only start 8 games. And evidently play only 15 snaps in the biggest game of the year….while not being injured. There’s your answer.

You do realize he isn't a project? Projects are players with red flags (he has none) and/or raw (he isn't). His collegiate pass protection was perfect. He just lacks as many starts as the others.

Romo “ so impressed with Zac ...1 of the best in the NFL… they are just fundamentally sound. Taylor the best winning % in the Playoffs of current coaches. Joe Burrow” Zac is the best head coach in the NFL & that gives me a lot of confidence." Taylor led the Bengals to their first playoff win since 1990, ending the longest active drought in the four major North American sports, en and appeared in Super Bowl LVI, the first since 1988.

He was a stud last year when starting we needed a OT but knew we could ease them in so for FO they had him high on board and after his play .

Steelers have guards they need Offensive Tackle and Center. Fautanu is a Tackle.

Mims is obviously going to be groomed to be the RT next season and likely will be starting by the end of this season.
Second round I hope is DT.
