Why? What had he done for you to determine that? By all accounts literally everywhere from everyone following the team after seeing him this offseason/camp it was his spot to lose.

Do we have a sense of what his injury history involves? Is it muscle strains, ligament strains/ tears, bruising, trauma?
Are there things that he can do to prevent the type of injuries he gets?
d
Injuries are part of the game, and I say this a lot, but TJ Houshmandzadeh had chronic soft tissue injuries - primarily hamstring. He knew if he did not solve the problem they were going to cut him. He went out and found someone to help him incorporate a really rigorous power yoga routine that resulted in no more significant hamstring injuries. He had a couple of tweaks now and then, but the problem was essentially solved.
Don't know if there is some sort of routine or combination of routines and dietary adjustments that might help him avoid the chronic injury problems.
I'd love to pick Housh's brain on this.

“Several weeks” is the key designation here. Last we heard that (Burrow) that was 6-8 weeks.
That’s different than hearing week to week.
Just a quick note on the designation.

lol yes because one injury takes away from decades of their luck. And I am speaking about when they actually have teames that can win super bowls. When they've had those teams they have been extremely lucky in all areas, including health. It seems every time we have a team ready for such things the injury bug screws us....see 2005, see 2015, see last year, see all the 1st rounders weve had with red shirt rookie seasons from injury. I could go on....Hell, if you want me to get real negative I could say our one healthy year (2021) came when we were one year short of where we needed to be. if our 2022/2023 teams had the health of that 2021 team we would have ATLEAST one ring, maybe two. We're pretty cursed. At this point i just hope this kid contributes ANYTHING this year. Shoulda traded up for Bowers. I said that before the draft too. I hate taking injury prone players and assuming theyre going to stop being injury prone.

His big injury was a serious ankle sprain that required tightrope surgery. Another player landed on it. He's had some hamstring issues as well. He's a big guy with lots of strain on those muscles.
NFL rehab and training will help. I think exposure to the stuff NFL players do in addition to practice and the weight room will do wonders. A lot of the Bengals' defensive linemen and linebackers do high-level pilates. That is something he might benefit from as it really helps with flexibility.

This is going to be similar to the Burrow calf strain timeline. Difference is Burrow could kind of get around the calf strain by limiting his mobility in the pocket - Mims pretty much needs his pec to be healthy in order to be effective.

With the way Mims was talking after the game and how this didn't pop up until today, Im lead to believe that its not too serious.

I think he means the luck they used to have back in the day when everything seemed to always go right for them and wrong for us.

It is a bummer that he's out, but hopefully the pec isn't a lasting thing or even a big deal since he hasn't had problems there before.
Yeah, it is a strained pectoral muscle. At most 8 weeks, but most likely he should be ready by the opener or the game after no problem.
This would of really scared me if it was a knee or ankle injury with Amarius's size. Trent Brown should be ready soon as well.
The sky isn't falling.

We all hate injuries, but it is a part of football. I would rather see non-season ending injuries in training camp 30 days prior to te start of the season than season ending injuries week #10 and beyond.
A team can adjust still during camp. My guess is we no longer see the starting OL play which means Burrow is likely rested until week #1. Burrow and the OL showed they were ready versus in the past when entire starting OL and Burrow sat entire preseason.
I have no issue is our starting DL also sits preseason games.
2024 may go on record as one of most underperforming teams in Bengal history. Bengal's FO has major work to do on defensive side of the ball. I say tag and trade Tee Higgins in 2025 to start with the rebuild.

His man sure couldn't get around him. Trent Brown doesn't rely on his athleticism like Mims.

Taylor reassures that Mims’ injury is “an extremely minor setback.”
