cam Taylor britt!

I just want to start off by saying I think the world of this kid as a person and I couldn't say enough of how I truly root for the guy, with that being said I also have to acknowledge how bad he's been playing this year..
Cam is single handedly killing this defense every Sunday, his technique is bad,his confidence is gone and he's not being the physical player that he's more than capable of..cam has zero confidence in press coverage right now, because he's not using his hands to re-rout guys and he's been very susceptible to fakes, shakes and double moves..

To make matters even worse when he's playing off coverage he's killing us with his whiffs and missed tackles and easy 1st down completions given up..I would seriously consider starting josh Newton over came coming off of this 10 days of rest,I'm not giving up on cam but he needs to understand that we can't keep putting him on the field if his play is hurting the other ten men..I love cam I really do but something has to change he's becoming a liability and we can't afford to keep letting him sink the whole defense..

He shouldn't be a #1 CB. We don't have a guy that should be a #2 CB.

Put guys in roles way above their skill level and bad things happen.

CTB is just so inconsistent, makes a fantastic play then a terrible one to follow it up and when Lou has him give the WR so much
cushion he will always be beat. Agree that he really needs to work on his technique and learn to tackle better, wrap up instead of
going for the big hit. Look at Mike Hilton, that guy is a great tackler and he is the smallest player on the field.

FO screwed up royally (again) by not bringing in a vet in the off-season.

CB is a huge need for this team in the off-season.

CTB plays like a shell of his former self. He is more of a liability at this point. How many TD were his fault last night from bad playing? I can think of 2 immediately.

CTB should be a safety and not a CB.

Cam has been plenty bad this season but it’s hard to really judge anyone in the secondary with a non-existent pass rush. If Trey doesn’t get pressure it’s all day back there. Thats where they need to start.

I actually agree with this take cam may be a very good free safety, he has good speed good ball skills and he's not afraid to put his body on the line, this might be the perfect solution especially in our third down sets..it's time to start taking Pratt and Wilson off the field against the ravens in 3rd down packages also..both of them lack the speed necessary to compete with the complexity of lamar jackson on those 3rd down looks..I would put bell and tycen Anderson as the nickel backers and let cam and stone play the safeties in those packages..

There have been some recent studies and papers that have come out through PFF that suggest cornerback play/ability to cover is more important than pass rush.

I agree our pass rush is lacking at times, but it's been blown coverage after blown coverage and technique issues with CTB. He just hasn't been a good cover corner this year.

It's kind of the Chicken or the Egg.

Does a great rush make pass coverage better or does a great pass coverage make a rush better

I said it a while back in a thread that he plays CB like he is a safety. I agree he seems better equipped to be a safety but as a safety you better be able to tackle. Of course anywhere on defense it helps if you can tackle lol

I wonder what Cam Taylor-Britts side breakdown looks like. It feels like he is playing alot more RCB compared to last year where I think k he played more LCB.

We’ve seen him do that successfully the first couple years though. He locked up guys like Diggs, Metcalf, etc.

CTB never was great in pass coverage IMO he was just never targeted and picked on which he is now.

He never got his head around and found the ball he just got lucky and got his hand up in the right spots and did not get the flag thrown.

He has 6 career interceptions (counting playoffs) so the bold is obviously not true.
