Mike florio wrote a scathing article about the bengals organization
#1
The article is called have the bengals changed??He makes the point that when it comes to how they felt and did business with joe burrow they have..but then he lights them up for how they haven't for how they chose to let Jessie bates walk..

Then he lights them up more for how they chose not to reward jamarr chase this off-season even adding that maybe just maybe if the vibes was great from a business standpoint the new England loss may not have happened to begin with..

He also adds how the organization chose to back door Mixon by not even asking him to restructure, only coming with being cut or traded as an option, and to make matters worse he says how stupid they've been in the tee Higgins situation,he said the bengals haven't even attempted to negotiate to find out if he was given a hometown discount or anything basically saying if this was the approach then they should've just traded him..It’s a very interesting take about the front office..

Florio is just assuming all of that. He doesn't know what they discussed with Mixon or Higgins. Higgins' agent was playing hardball. As for JoeMix, I just think they thought it was time to move on from him and find a better blocker.

A Steelers fan shit talking the Bengals? Color me shocked.

Outside of just a few people, everyone connected to the Bengals deserve to be absolutely roasted for their actions and performance. That said, Florio can shut his Steeler slobber and make not so tender love to himself.

Hey Mike, Steelers rookie Beanie Bishop travels back to WVU to use the training facilities on his off days. How about doing an article about that cheap ass Steelers front office.

This will always be the correct answer. I will never understand why Bengals fans continue to give the guy clicks.

I have a feeling that as long as Zac Taylor is the HC, the Bengals are going to continue to be a soft, finesse team. The OL sits there and watches Burrow take hard shots, get facemasked, and offer no retaliation whatsoever. I guarantee that if an Andrew Whitworth ever saw that, he would have speared the defender in the back and came up swinging. Sometimes you have to show that you're tough and stand behind your leader. We have none of that, and that is a reflection of the tone and mentality of the HC.

Just saw this on my Facebook and rolled into my room to post it.

Maybe in the days of Mike Brown this might have been true, but we're not going to play around with Chase when he's the second piece to the Burrow combination that we know can bring us a few ships.

With all the high hopes, the organization isn't going to take the chance that Chase has a big year or the team makes a playoff run because then his price would go through the roof, which is happening right now.

It’s simple. If the bengals are gonna rely on the draft more so than other teams, they’re going to need to invest in the scouting department. That would be a fine investment

Until the NFL mandates how many scouts each team must have, don’t count on it.

I'd argue they need to invest more into their analytics department first. I don't think getting information is the issue parsing through that info and stacking the board is a large one.

Agreed. We constantly hear they liked so & so player that ends up being good for another team. Meanwhile the guy they did take is a dud. Seems like the decision making to me.

Similar to my point in GameDay that if Dan Campbell is our HC, a Fumble with a 21-7 lead probably doesn't lead to a meltdown.

The team is mentally weak.

They already played around with Chase. His deal was basically agreed to in dollars, but they couldn't agree on structure. A lot of the Florio stuff is stuff people say on the board.

The question is: How many mvp years of Burrow will they waste.

This has been a like 30+ year discussion.

It feels like they largely draft from the draftnics big boards more in recent years. Might be coincidence.

florio is assuming, but you’re not? I would bet a sports writer had more j side information, or sources, than anyone on this board.

I’ll give the bengals some credit, they have changed a little. But not enough to compete on a constant basis, as we’ve seen the few years being completely awful.

The Bengals since Marvin Lewis became coach changed a lot 'cosmetic' wise. Locker rooms, practice facilities, and general amenities for players changed a ton as opposed to the Dark Age days and before. But yeah, in regards to the front office, not much has really changed has it in terms of an operational level has it?
