Interesting that Chase wanted Burton in on that last play, where he scored on a 32-yard TD that also helped Burrow break a record for QB. He was looking out for Jermaine Burton, trying to help the kid.

But on second-and-six from the Browns 32, wide receivers coach Troy Walters told Chase he might want to re-think that since the play call was "Whiskey."

Whatever that is, Chase took a shot, and it turned into a free drink because Browns sack ace Myles Garrett jumped offsides and Chase got behind the secondary and caught a lob by himself.

Chase, who continues to lead all the spots for the receiver Triple Crown, could only shake his head at his good fortune.

"I went out there and it was just nothing but God at that point that it got called," Chase said. "I was looking out for Jermaine."

Love hearing this from Ja'Marr, thanks Nepa. He is a very special player and I like hearing him looking out for Jermaine who is a talent.

Ja'Marr Chase is doing something insane right now being mentioned in the same breath as the elite of elites of all time.

I wasn't sure last year.  I knew he was a top 3-5.   But he's doing things no other receiver is doing - in every part of the receiver's job.    He does it all at an elite level.   He is such a joy to watch!

No doubt. Hard to find a weakness in his game in any facet. Last year, he wasn't good running the ball, this year he is good at it and he is a 
much better route runner than last year. Ja'Marr has always been a good blocker.

Chase has settled it this year. At the current point in time, Ja'Marr Chase is the number 1 WR in the league.

You have to love the number of players who are not giving up on the season. Chase and Burrow top the list. That is true leadership.

He seems stronger this year as well, many times Ja'Marr looks like he is going to get tackled only to carry multiple defenders for more yardage.

There were two minutes left on the clock and I (told) Troy (Walters), 'I'm good, get Jermaine (Burton) in and let him get like a little (playing time).' I was looking out for Jermaine. He was like, 'The second play is 'Whiskey,' so you might want to take this play,' and I was like, 'Alright, fine.' In retrospect, I think the hip injury he sustained against Atlanta his sophomore year may have affected him.  He didn't seem as explosive when he returned from that and throughout last year.  This year, he's got that juice he had his rookie year and that combined with him being a more technically savvy receiver has turned him into a complete monster.

Not sure why. The game was over at that point and as he said he was trying to get Burton some reps. Very unselfish move with the triple crown in sight. He’s mentioned before how Boyd was with him when he first came into the league and that he’s tried (key word) to help Burton in the same way. Seems like exactly the type of teammate we’d want Ja’Marr to be. Especially after some people were killing him this past offseason for the “hold in.”

If he holds on to the triple crown lead this year, he will be 2 years younger than Steve Smith Sr, who is currently the youngest to do it @26 yrs old.
