Yep, if Simmons was healthy and Jackson back at LG and their C healthy, it would be lights out. Their CB play has been iffy at times, and grabby, getting a lot of flags.

It's not just at Ohio St. all the major programs are rustling up all of the NIL money that they can get their hands on.

If this first year of the expanded playoff is any indication, they don't need to have more than 8 teams in the CFP moving forward.
All these lower seeds got embarrassed.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

I am in this place. It is weird, while I know we have more pressing needs (DE, DT, IOL), the FA class is weak at DT & DE & TE. And I am not in love with any of the 2nd tier DE/DT prospects (Scourton, Grant, Nolen, Harmon). And we do not really play with OLB's on D (M. Williams). Assuming the Tier1 guys on D are gone (Graham, Carter, Johnson, Starks), taking the HR two way TE and circling back to a deep DL class on Day 2 would be fine with me.

I'd rather have a surefire stud at TE than a middling DT/DE prospect.

Restructure Burrow. Extend Chase. Sign Tee. Cut Rankins and Cappa. Bring back BJ Hill. Go hard after IOL upgrades (2): Smith, Jenkins, Daniels, Fries, Becton, Zeitler, Banks.

Then reassess. Do we need to free more cap (Hubbard, Moss, Sample, Pratt, Stone)? Make another FA move on the market at DE, DT, S, LB, WR3? Bring back one of our own (Hilton, Gesicki, Ford, T. Brown, ADG, Hudson, etc)?

I just want a player in Rd1. Not a prospect or a reach. Someone who will help us now. We need help now.

If you liked the way the offense looked and functioned for the those few weeks that Eric All was healthy, then Tyler Warren would be that can't miss pick in round 1.

Tyler Booker is still OL1 in this draft class.

How long will Booker last in round 1 in your opinion?

I have been doing research; he appears to be the best guard in the draft who could play tackle if needed.

2024 may go on record as one of most underperforming teams in Bengal history. Bengal's FO has major work to do on defensive side of the ball. I say tag and trade Tee Higgins in 2025 to start with the rebuild.

Booker is a guard only OL.

He is not the most athletic guard so your not gonna ask pull often but he plays with power, good hand placement at the point of attack, and vision/awareness in pass protection.

When DUKE pays a QB 8 mill for 2 years you know the NIL is flying all over the place.

GO look at the results from previous years when their were 4 teams....teams were still getting BLOWN OUT....your point is moot.

He's got a 2nd round grade everywhere I look. Give me Banks and Campbell over him every time. Bleacher report has Booker's pro comparison as O'Cyrus Torrence who has a 56.9 PFF not sure I'd be all hyped up over that.

Still would rather have Fannin, who may even slip to the 2nd.

You beat me to it. He's getting looked at as a FB/TE hybrid in the NFL. I'd love to see him become a Bengal.

Off-topic, but adjacent.  What's your opinion on Wyatt Millum?

To me, he's a guy we could plug in at LG for a couple of years to get acclimated to the NFL, then slide him to LT when Brown's contract is up.  I also remember reading that he was willing to play C, so potentially a Karras replacement, as well.

Booker isn't position or scheme versitle which will keep his draft stock down but he also compares alot to a guy most Bengals fans want in Free Agency this off-season Trey Smith.

Even though Milum has these fantastic pass protection numbers it has alot to do with WVU's scheme. Heavy run/qb run, read option, rpos, screens etc. He has a ton of experience and it shows up in his technique and angles in the run game. He is tall but doesn't have alot of length so that and footspeed show up when he's on an island. Moving inside will help but then leverage might become an issue because of his height. Ive seen on Twitter someone had him compared to Liam Eichenburgh which I like. Another good one from the same draft class is Sam Cosmi. Both of those comps show a good floor/ceiling for Milum

I'd rather have Daniels and Jenkins and they'll both more than likely be cheaper.

I like Armand Membou and Charles Grant in the mid rounds as well. Both have good lateral quickness and are very scheme versatile.

I don't know if I will get any William & Mary tape to watch Grant lol. I'm a big Membou fan though going to be a early day 2 guy weak tackle class will push him up boards.
