Will miss the entire 2025 season.

Get Mike back now.

In 2022 it was a back surgery.
You are correct, this is his 2nd ACL tear, but to the same knee as Ike here says. Not good.

He had a spinal injury and the ACL tear in college. Both bad injuries.

For me, despite the holes on D, I am not enamored with any of the DL guys likely to be around at #17 (assuming Carter & Graham are gone). Especially the DE's. Not sure the late Rd1 DEs are that much better than the Rd2 guys. And I still think we want DE's, not OLB's (Pearce).
For that reason, I think if there is a talented guy who drops to us at #17, we should take him. Starks, Warren, and Walker are top 10 players in my book. And we could use help at S-slot corner, TE, and LB-edge. You wouldn't be ignoring a need.
I'd be fine with a smart mid-level vet signing + a Day 2 pick at DE & DT. If it is our own, then Ossai & BJ Hill. If we want to go outside, then I am good with DTs like Calais Campbell, Poona Ford, Teair Tart types. I do not love the FA DE class.
Yeah, hope we go trenches in FA and add a TE in the Draft. There are a lot of good TE's in this class and Joe shown he likes to throw to
TE's if they are decent and get open. Bring back Gesicki, add at least one Guard and a couple DL in FA to open up the Draft is my vote.

And, with that, you can officially move TE up to the top tier of positionsl needs, joining G, WR, DT, and DE.

Yep. Too bad for All, that is some sucky news. Hopefully we get at the very least a Guard and a couple DL in FA to free up the Draft a little bit.
Have to bring back Gesicki and hope McLachlan can show something.

I am guessing we will resign Geisecki and do it by committee as we did this year. Maybe if the right value falls I could see it, for instance Tyler Warren at 17.

Nate, signing Cam Gandy last week was a signal that there were issues with All recovery.
All was the complete TE that we were hoping for, and he was blocking really well and his route tree was expanding. It is not a surprise to see him injure the same knee running a route. I think he planted to make a cut.
Offensive positions which require planting and cutting suddenly (RB and Pass catchers) have the greatest challenge in coming back from ACLs.
So when he comes back, I'm afraid he will be one dimensional, or very limited route tree.

Can't see Tyler Warren falling all the way to 17. But he would be perfect for the Bengals, because he can also block well for the RBs and protect Burrow and catch passes and run out of the backfield (and even throw passes!) I'd love for the Bengals to get a complete TE and not worry about the position from year to year. But maybe there's another passable TE option in later rounds.

Hate it for the kid. This is another failure by the FO. He has a better chance of being the queen of England than he does having a heathy, reliable career

The tape he put out imo was good enough for a 2nd rounder but yeah he fell to the 4th for this reason and looking at it maybe a 4th was even too high.
We were really banking on him being able to stay healthy

Sure someone will call back to this injury for a loss of a game in November or such.

Another issue is Erick was not a "young" draft pick. IF there are no further setbacks he will be 26 before he sees the field again.

All was found money - we used only a 4 on him. The injury was just bad luck. It happens.

Yep agreed.
If McLachlan ends up being in the mix in any way, Bengals need to add 1 TE this offseason.
If Bengals aren't too keen yet whether McLachlan is good enough to make the roster, they need to add 2 TEs instead.
In my head, I'd love to re-sign Gesicki but also add Tyler Warren.
In a more realistic state of mind though, I'd love to add Warren or Loveland if Gesicki doesn't re-sign. If Gesicki does re-sign, I'd still potentially look for another TE on Day 3 to compete with Gandy/McLachlan.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. Ended 9-8 but barely missed playoffs
Changes needed to do better in Sept/Oct moving forward.
Sorry for Party Rocking!
