Perine Back

Went right over your head. Yippee Breech is back. I was pointing out to the person I responded to who was giving me a rundown on Samaje that I’ve been familiar a long time.

Perine will be a good 3rd down pass pro back they need, but his role shouldn't be bigger than that, other than spelling Brown from time to time. Chase Brown should be the workhorse going forward.

1) What he did in high school doesn’t matter.

2) At less than $4M for 2 years he is being paid to be a role player, not an insurance policy if Brown gets injured.

3) It doesn’t matter if Brown gets injured, because they have yet to improve the offensive line.

4) The run game is an afterthought to the HC who must have thought, “Which FA RB can we sign that will signal to the defense we’re definitely passing on 3rd down?”

5) We are all familiar you personally know every Sooner player and coach for the last 60 years and half the coaches and coordinators in the league right now and you have an inside source to the Bengals front office. I wouldn’t be surprised if you hand stitched the first football from pigskin with your own hands.

Still, less wear and tear. I thought Derrick Henry would slow down with all his and he hasn't and he has a lot more than Samaje.

We will see, I didn't see him slowing down with the Chiefs last year.

As a matter of fact he made some big time clutch plays for them to win them games. Surprised they let him go for so cheap.

I’m perfectly fine as our third down back like Denver & KC but not the replacement for Chase if injury. I’m pretty sure that’s Herbert.

Hopefully bringing back Herbert is next along with a Guard. Herbert did fill in well for Chase Brown against the stealers, he is a good runner
and has more quicks and speed than Samaje with better burst.

To be fair Henry spends over 200k a year on body maintenance lol. But I pretty much agree, I think Perine is good for a 3rd down passing back role, where his age won't show nearly as much keeping his legs more fresh.

Yeah, Henry is different in that area for sure. But not like Samaje doesn't take care of himself. I think he has a couple more years before he starts
to fall off, we will see. Still need to bring back Herbert and draft a RB mid to late in the Draft to really put RB in a great spot. Time to move on from
Trayveon Williams IMO.

You’re worried about Perine being Brown’s insurance policy, but you don’t think Perine is Brown’s insurance?

In other words, you’re not worried about that thing you claim you’re worried about. Brilliant. Juuuuust brilliant.

As of now, our backup RB is Moss. He may not be nd gets cut. i am not sure he is healthy, if he is not, don't think he can be cut.

So Herbert went to Indy. That sucks, I thought he did well in the limited carries he got here.

Samaje in his contract presser basically said he wanted to see if the grass was greener elsewhere and it wasn't.  He wanted to play for Sean Payton and all he would say about that experience was "it was different"  Wanted to play for Andy Reid last season.  But wanted to come home.  He also said his blocking has improved

All hopes turn to next year

Yeah, didn't like losing Herbert at all and we gave up a 7th round pick for him, so just threw that away. As you know I am not a negative
poster but these types of things are frustrating. Shouldn't of been hard to bring back Herbert for cheap. Now we have to draft a RB mid to
late rounds. I like that Samaje is back but Trayveon Williams has shown what he has shown. Really deep draft for RB's.

I was just thinking that you might actually be the most negative person to ever post on this board.

Your inside source nailed another one.

I like this pick up. He brings skills that the offense needs and plays hard. Cincinnati is clearly not a running or balanced team, so Perine fits right in with the scheme.
