Day 3!
I like alot of the players in this draft class for the Bengals but as a whole this is the worst off-season in the Joe Burrow era.

I am not a guy usually attacking the scouting/FO but you can tell they are a half assed NFL organization.

More stupidity, redundancy, and poor value on Day 3!

I did not like a single one of our picks. Poor value, redundant, or both at nearly every pick and all 3 today.

4: Another LB.
5: Another G

Our 2 outside FA's of note were Burks & Patrick, and then we draft 2 guys at those spots. Triple dipping at LB and OG. And not a quality starting G (at present) in the lot.

But nothing at DT, S, or CB. Not to mention TE, OT, or WR

6: RB. Again you sign Perine, bring back Moss, AND pick a RB?

WTF are we doing?

A few of them are actually good at football too.

Day 3 was probably the best day for the Bengals in terms of value for their picks.

I really like Rivers as a backup with versatility across the line, and I think Brooks can develop into a quality pairing with Brown.

Carter was good value at LB in the 4th too.

The only downside of this 3rd day was it showed we didn't need to reach on Knight to get a LB worthy of playing time as a rookie.

Imagine if we took Ratledge instead of Knight, our draft could have been Stewart, Ratledge, Watts, Carter, Rivers, Brooks. That would have been a solid B draft.

With the way it is now, I'd give it a C.

In isolation, the players are not horrible. But taken together it was abject stupidity.

They have won 100 games and been to the playoffs7  times. We have won 77 games and been 3 times lol.
I bet you loved this draft didn’t you?

leave this message board if you are going to be so negative

D is the best I can do. But the guys today were not reaches, just redundant with our FA/other picks.

Where are we better this offseason?

1) LB. Burks, Knight, and Carter. And Pratt is still on the roster.

2) G. But only marginally. More bodies woth Patrick, Fairchild, and Rivers. Bilut none screams quality starter at present (we should have taken Frazier instead). And there is no eay we go FA G now.

3) Starting DT pair. Slaton should be an improvement vs the run

Worse?

1) CB. We lost Hilton. No replacement.
2) S. We lost Bell. No replacement. No depth behind poor starters.
3) DT depth. Still only 4 on the team.

That is a C offseason at best.

Trey & Pratt are unresolved.

No offense, but I hope this post does not age well for you as we make the playoffs in 2025 with improved guard and LB play.

Looks like we have some disappointed folks after this draft. Maybe we can trade Pratt and jump back in and get the Mr. Irrelevant pick. Maybe that would brighten your moods?

That would require some protectiveness from the FO and we know that isn’t in tgeir bag

1) LB. Burks, Knight, and Carter. And Pratt is still on the roster. Pratt sucked the past 2 years, one of the 3 added is an upgrade and possibly huge upgrade.

2) G. But only marginally. More bodies woth Patrick, Fairchild, and Rivers. Bilut none screams quality starter at present (we should have taken Frazier instead). And there is no eay we go FA G now. Cappa sucked last year, Volson sucked last year. We added not 1 but 2 guards to compete for starting jobs, one gave up no sacks in 2 years playing in the SEC and other seems to pssibly better if he can stay healthy. Also, I would not be surprised if we add a vet after June 1

3) Starting DT pair. Slaton should be an improvement vs the run McKinley and Jenkins are 2nd year guys, let's see how well Golden can coach since he did not draft a DT

Worse?

1) CB. We lost Hilton. No replacement. I may be wrong, but I think if we dont resign Hilton, Hill becomes the nickel back on 3rd down and Britt or Newton are on the outside opposite Turner. You did not mention our 2 starting CB's missed most of 2025, so huge + if they come back healthy.
2) S. We lost Bell. No replacement. No depth behind poor starters. Bell sucked last year, he was already replaced ny battle. We also have Anderson and Anthony to compete for PT.
3) DT depth. Still only 4 on the team.Yep 4, but arguably a lot better than Rankins (no production) and they righted a wrng by signing Slaton.

That is a C offseason at best.

Trey & Pratt are unresolved. Trey is a Bengal in 2025 and Pratt will not be, it is resolved and unless Pratt works his ass off and shows something in camp, he is cut or traded.

I am not a believer in grades, but heading into 2025 on paper, we are a much better team in my humble opionion. I hope I am right and you missed by a lot on your grades and negative ranking of our off season.

Who has had more postseason wins in the last 100 games in this "not even close" comparison?

That'd be a good way to measure success

I thought we did okay. Coach them up and develop a good product. I'm giving this draft a solid B. There's a ton of potential.

Bengals don’t usually grade very well after the draft. Wouldn’t be surprised if they grade out as a C.

That’s my point, why we keep falling farther behind AFC north with bad drafts.

When was the last time the bengals got an A in the draft? Anyone know?

their last good draft was 2020. 2021 contributed zilch outside of chase and a good rookie year from mcpherson
