Reds July 2025 Thread
So the Reds now have promoted Sal Stewart 2B/3B to AAA, and Marte is playing RF today. Hmmmm.

Gonna probably have to actually score some earned runs to win, boys. Any inning now.

6ip 2r is a good start by Abbott, just a shame that it doesn't look like the offense decided to show up today for him.

Kulpa needs to pull his head out of his ass. I've lost track how many times Reds pitchers nail the outside part of the strike zone and he calls it a ball.

Umps are squeezing the strike zone in the Reds pitchers. They did it yesterday, and doing it again today.

At least be consistent.

Suter wasnt happy with the missed calls for sure.

Those non-strike calls on Mets batters in 8th was a crime. No way the Reds deserved to give up a run, Soto should not have been on base.

It’s time for computer added strike zone reviews.

The Reds won a series on the road against a decent team; I can't be mad.

The Brewers . . . 10 wins in a row, just pulled off a season sweep of the Dodgers.

At least Arizona swept the Cardinals.

Too bad that he's one of their keepers. . . James Wood has one of the smoothest swings in MLB right now. He'd look great in the Cincy outfield.

Will Benson didn't see the field in New York. They started Espinal, Lux and Marte in the outfield (two lefty starting pitchers). They're facing a right hander tonight and he's sitting. It doesn't look like Tito is a believer in Benson.

Well, that sucked.

Two walks, two doubles and then a bases loaded triple.

Let's see how they react.

Edit- they went down 1, 2, 3. Marte saw four sliders, all of them off of the plate. He swung and missed at three of them with his head facing left field.

2 walks and 4 singles is a nice response to start the 4th.

All of a sudden the game doesn't feel like it's over.

Unless Richardson decides to give it all back.

Clutch appearance by Barlow.

Trevino seems like he has really come back to Earth, hitting .136 in July.

Might just be a matter of catching. They do have the term framing for a reason.

Speaking of which, Marte just got saved by that not being called strike 3.

When your starting pitcher gives up 2 walks 5 hits, a dinger, and 7 runs in 2.1 innings you ain't winning that game very often.

Framing had nothing to do with it. That ump just sucked. It was both ways but Nats seem to benefit more. That might be the first time Suter reacted that much to such a badly missed call. I'm surprised Tito didn't lose it after that.

At least we didn't lose on a walk off catchers interference like the Red Sox just did. First time in 54 years.

Seems to me, that ball and strike calls are getting worse every year. Umps are so inconsistent, where the same location is a strike on a RH batter and a ball in a LH batter. Something needs to be done.  It’s time for computer aided ball/ strike calls.
