Yep, hope he doesn't fall victim to the 3rd RD curse.

Sorry they didn't take him when YOU felt they should. You'll get over it. Or you'll keep coming here and whining about it for some reason anyways.

No. They could have gotten Sample even later than that. Or better yet, not at all.

Guess that’s a no. Join Mr Toast on my ignore list.

Another guy projected to go in the 4th Round:

Overview
Free safety-turned-linebacker with good cover skills who has filled out his frame and checks the size and speed boxes, but Pratt is still in the process of learning to man his position. He plays upright in space and is unorthodox and inconsistent in taking on blocks and finding his run fits. However, he plays with good lateral athleticism and burst and found his way to the football enough to fill out the stat sheet in his lone year as a starter. He will continue to improve with time and could become an eventual starter at either SAM or WILL.

Yes I can....He wasn't available.

In all fairness, I think we are convinced Sample would have been there in the 4th, so we could still complain.

I'm ok with Sample, but 4th Round. Pratt was projected to go 4th too.

Looks like he is a project LB from what I read.

I knew you would. I’m ok with this one. Maybe a touch early but if they liked him most they couldn’t wait

I don’t like the Pratt pick either, fwiw. He’s too slow. But at least he fills a need.

Many other better players out there than Pratt.

Bleacher Report's Matt Miller compared NC State LB Germaine Pratt to Chicago Bears LB Danny Trevathan.

Miller believes that Pratt is worth second-round consideration, and believes he has a chance to be a starter at the next level. One of the reasons for this is Pratt's ability in coverage, as the 6-foot-2, 240-pound linebacker is a former safety and it shows. He does note that Pratt can struggle to disengage, and there's really only one year of production. "Pratt might need some time to develop," writes Miller, "but you can get him on the field right away thanks to his coverage ability and range."

Pratt is not quite as good a pass defender as Wilson but is a better run defender. Hence a more balanced player - good pick. I confess I should have thought of him myself :)

Until we take one of those guys everyone insists we should've taken in the 2nd or 3rd in the 4th, right?

Pretty sure we were convinced Jawaan Taylor wouldn't be there for us in the first round and he slipped into the second. Maybe we don't know as much as we think we know?

And I hope they start trading up some with all these damn picks

The dude ran 4.5 and is a former DB. You're going to have to make up something else not to like him
