Brandon Allen has been out of college for 5 years. The Bengals are his 4th NFL team. It is pretty awesome for a guy who has shuffled around for that long and just kept grinding to win an award like this.

He must have some great coaching this year allowing him to succeed like he did....

You mean the coach who thought Ryan Finley was better than him?
Houston's defense ranks 31st in passer rating allowed. I think that had more to do with it than anything else.

There's gotta be something in Finley that we aren't seeing, though, right? Cuz to your point, holy crap it's not even close comparing BA to RF.

What makes you think he thought Finley was better?

And who made the decision to start BA over Finley?

Didn't you notice that he had Finley as the #2 QB and put him into the game instead of Allen when Burrow was injured?

Honestly, Goff has regressed quite a bit since losing his QB coach. Zac did a good job with Burrow and Allen. Finley hasn’t had any success passing though. And Dalton was terrible behind that joke of an offensive line. There’s still a lot of games to be played before we can adequately judge Zac.
Hoping this offensive line continues to improve. The Ravens will be a tough test for the line and Brandon Allen. Could get ugly.

He did not make that decision until AFTER he played Finley instead of Allen and Finley looked like shit.

Wasn’t that because Allen was being quarantined in case of a COVID outbreak in the QB room? He was their true backup, they just didn’t want to put him at risk with COVID. As soon as that Washington game was over, Allen was named the starter.

BINGO
If the QB room got compromised We'd lose Joe and BA.

No. Brandon Allen had been on the practice squad all season while Finley was on the active roster as the #2 QB.
If Brandon Allen had been the #2 QB he would have been on the active roster so he could have played when Burrow got injured.

I don't understand? Wasn't BA always in the QB room anyway? Don't all the practice squad players attend meetings and practice just like all the other players?
What is the point of having your best back up QB not available to play if the starter gets injured?

Not when you're the "covid reserve". Everything is done via zoom, and you work out on your own.

Having to play Finley for no more than a couple quarters was better than not having JB and BA for a week or multiple weeks. Hence why BA was never in the same room as them. They talked about this at the beginning of the year.

If he had such an afinity for Finley, he would have been the starter against the Texans.
