Thoughts on Zimmer - jorev5 - 12-20-2019 What are your thoughts on Mike Zimmer? I think his contract ends this year. RE: Thoughts on Zimmer - Nicomo Cosca - 12-20-2019 My thoughts are that we should have promoted him to HC when we had the chance, but that ship has sailed at this point. RE: Thoughts on Zimmer - Nati#1 - 12-20-2019 Yeah he should have been promoted to HC before he left. Instead with stuck with Marvin the turd. I'd love to have Zimmer back as DC .. thatd be great. RE: Thoughts on Zimmer - Fullrock - 12-20-2019 Zimmer is signed through 2020 RE: Thoughts on Zimmer - Bengalitis - 12-20-2019 The best transition ever would have been from marvin to zimmer. Never happened unfortunately. RE: Thoughts on Zimmer - bengalfan74 - 12-20-2019 (12-20-2019, 10:51 AM)Bengalitis Wrote: The best transition ever would have been from marvin to zimmer. RE: Thoughts on Zimmer - HarleyDog - 12-20-2019 But, if Zimmer would have been made HC in 2014? We wouldn't have had the 2015 playoff meltdown to haunt us for all eternity. I doubt the FO is ready to move on from Taylor after just one year, but if Zimmer could be convinced to come back as DC, could give Taylor the experienced coordinator/coach that this team needs. RE: Thoughts on Zimmer - THE PISTONS - 12-20-2019 The Bengals seem to hire coaches that go with the flow. Zimmer is the opposite temperament. This. Kicking Marvin into the FO and handing control to Zimmer would have been the best move. Zimmer will likely be retained by the Vikes. You obviously are not familiar with the Vikings' postseason history under Zimmer. -Blew a nine point lead in the fourth quarter to lose. -Blew a 10 point lead in the 4th quarter and then won thanks to a miracle fluke play. -Got blown out 38-7. RE: Thoughts on Zimmer - Fan_in_Kettering - 12-20-2019 Mike Zimmer isn't leaving Minnesota. Zygi Wilf is eccentric -- not crazy. Ron Rivera is the guy out there in need of a HC job, give it to him. RE: Thoughts on Zimmer - Destro - 12-20-2019 Not like it was ever going to happen, but they only time you will see Zimmer in Cincy is to coach a team against the Bengals. RE: Thoughts on Zimmer - THE PISTONS - 12-20-2019 (12-20-2019, 02:25 PM)TJHoushmandzadeh Wrote: Is that how you'd characterize Turner? Head Coaches. The assistants don't interact with management daily. Plus...Zimmer was here himself before. Marvin, Taylor, Lebeau, Dave Shula, Coslett...were all 'go with the flow' and guys who didn't rock the boat. Zimmer is brash. It's no secret that that's why it took him so long to be a HC. And his Bengals DC experience in the playoffs. Generally our defenses underperformed in the playoff losses. The whole team really did...but the defense was generally part of it.
