Some Of My Favorite Slot Guys 2023 Draft - Emeritus - 02-07-2023

We Need Speed Even If Boyd Returns! Speed / Playmaker!!!

I believe that this prospect is the best route runner in the draft and its not even close. The echo out there is from a size standpoint but his tape tells me that he can not only win inside but outside the numbers! The size will be the sticking point but the tape won't lie. Mark him down as a solid round 2. Gifted player.

Jayden Reed WR Michigan State
https://youtu.be/6ZhCz2IlINg
I've been on this train for quite sometime at least a year. I believe the quarterback position let him down from a statistical standpoint. The guy does everything including as a returner. He'll go higher than most think but I like him in the 3-4 range.

Kayshon Boutte WR LSU
https://youtu.be/LaxFTNo3phs
This will likely be the most polarizing player in the 2023 draft because he could've been WR#1. I wouldn't even put him on this list EVER if I didn't think the locker-room was strong enough. The LSU ties also help because they know what went down exclusively. I'm not sure we'd touch him until the second round but we have some player possibly close to the situation so don't be shocked.

Zay Flowers WR Boston College
https://youtu.be/oOQC_dx_BiE
This guy is special!!!! When he touches the ball in space its explosive and it can go for six everytime. Thats really what this team lacks that the others have in the AFC is speed! This prospect will be a nightmare in the league. He'll keep DC's up at night for years to come.

Parker Washington WR Penn State
https://youtu.be/3Ypi1Ncl_Fo
A flat out tough guy when it comes to slot wideouts. He reminds me alot of a smaller Anquon Boldin. Just a flat out football player that you'd love to have on your team especially in a cold weather city. Gotta get him in round 2 certainly! The numbers are skewed due to quarterback play but this prospect is a boss.

Josh Downs WR UNC
https://youtu.be/UMvKNMBHVQ4
Just another playmaker that can do damage in the league with his route running and football prowess. The production numbers are there but the ability to stay healthy is a concern. With a good combine he could sneak in your top 15 easily!

Jaxon Smith Njigba WR Ohio State
https://youtu.be/TPDjPNBUOA8
If your just talking x&o's then this prospect is the best in the draft. I question his heart personally but his talent is upper echelon. I just thought that he quit on his teammates.

Monaray Baldwin WR Baylor
https://youtu.be/nmcdj7PBFGg
A good friend of mine sent me something on this guy a few months ago and I really never looked at his film. In observing him the guy is maybe 4.2 fast. He reminds me of a guy we selected many years ago in the 7th round. Mario Alford. I haven't watched enough yet but thought I'd share.

While I completely disagree with your comment about his heart, I absolutely love JSN and if he is there when the Bengals pick, he would be a no-brainer for me.

However, I bet he blows up the combine or pro day and ends up a really high pick.  I can dream.

BS this guy is a selfish punk and if he had an ounce of heart about him, he would have been there for his team against Michigan and against Georgia.  When the going gets tough, this guy is nowhere to be found.  The kinda guy who once he signs a contract and gets a big payday he's AWOL.  His attitude will never let him live up to his natural talent.

This is the same guy that put up 300 yards against Utah when Wilson and Olave sat out the previous season's bowl game.  No one says that crap about them?

It is easy for you to say he should have played hurt and shown some heart, but you have no idea the extent of his injury and how it would have possibly ruined his opportunity to be a high draft pick this season.  Watch him blow away the combine and go in the first 15 picks and tell him he did the wrong thing getting a $18 million dollar contract with a $10 million dollar signing bonus.  That is life-changing money.  You want him to risk it when you have no stake in his life whatsoever.

How do you not have Tyler Scott on this list?  Guy lives 1 mile from Paycor, runs a 4.29 forty, has return experience..... also Mims is another candidate.  Both of these will be drafted no later than the 4th, most likely 3rd round and neither of these players are 160 pounders like "Tank".

Wilson and Olave played against Michigan and they sat out the Rose Bowl against Utah, not for a National Championship Semi-Final game.  I guarantee you that if the Buckeyes were in a National Semi-final, Olave and Wilson would have played.   JSN injured his hamstring in week 1 and basically sat out the rest of the year, but he'll be itching to go come combine time; you can bet the house on that.

RE: Some Of My Favorite Slot Guys 2023 Draft - Go Cards - 02-11-2023

Would like to see Zay Flowers in Stripes if he were still available when the Bengals make their 2nd round pick.

Everything you said is true, but I still don't understand your point?

You are actually claiming that JSN could have played against Michigan and Georgia and been effective?  You think he quit on his team?  If that is your point, we're done.  You have no idea the extent of his injury nor his mental state.  I know he tried to come back in another game and either re-injured it or realized he couldn't be effective.

JSN hamstring ligament wasn't torn from the bone and had to be re-anchored, nor was it a muscle tear, it was a garden variety pull.   So you think a hamstring pull takes 4 or 5 months to heal?

Yes, he let his team down with a national championship on the line, he didn't even make an effort to play in the semi-final, and I don't think he practiced the week before the national semi-final game.  I don't think it takes a rocket scientist to know what he was thinking.

If you ever played a sport where your explosiveness was what made you effective, and you lose the ability to plant, accelerate, etc. then YES, it can take 4-5 months.  They can be very nagging.

Again, you are saying he quit on his team when I am saying you don't know that and you don't get to tell a 21 year old kid to risk a 20 million dollar payday on a game where he could aggravate what has already been a nasty injury.

It is easy for you to sit and say that as a jilted OSU fan (I wanted them to win, too) but it is wrong.

That isn't what happened. The injury was much more significant than a hamstring. Considering what was at stake, his future, he made the right decision.

This guy is going to be another Antonio Brown.  All the potential in the world,  but his attitude will keep getting in his way.

Time will tell. Both Olave and Wilson said that he was the best WR in the room while they were attending OSU. Pretty sure that the Jets and Saints were both very, very happy with their first-round selections. I'll take Wilson and Olave at their word when it comes to Jaxon.

My God.  Where the hell are you getting this?  What has he done?  To be lumped in with Brown is pretty damning.

He seems to think that JSN was selfishly sitting out all season to protect his payday, and not out there giving it up for his team.

No shit...I'm a huge OSU fan and i never heard one bad thing about JSN! If by some miracle he's still on the board for the Bengals, i hope like hell they draft him.

That's just the way college sports are today.  Nick Bosa also sat out a year with an injury most thought he could have come back from during the year.

However, Brown had legal issues going back to high school, lost a scholarship to FSU because he was academically intelligible, and got kicked out of FIU for punching a security guard in the face, so I fail to see any correlation with JSN.

I agree that the comparison to Antonio Brown was completely baseless and unwarranted. As far as the notion that JSN was "milking" the injury to protect his payday goes?  Nobody besides JSN and the support staff closest to him knows exactly what he was going through.  Sometimes as spectators people forget that players aren't robots with uniforms on, that get brought out on game days for our amusement.

His attitude is much like ABs--- by sitting out milking a hamstring pull for 4 months when his team has a national championship on the line. Much like AB this guy is selfish and left his teammates high and dry when they needed him the most.  Nick Bosa had a stomach core muscle tear.  JSN had a hamstring pull. Apples and Oranges. Don't try and make it something more serious than it was in week 1 at the end of August 2022.

I agree it's just where college sports are today, but it doesn't mean it's right and especially for the rest of the team. It's like going AWOL in the face of the enemy and sets a bad example. The NCAA/NFL should mandate these kids have to play another year, sorta like the 3-yrs removed from HS before going pro, if a player decides to sit out due to injury.  It should be a full 3-yrs of playing at least 75% of each season to declare eligible for the draft.

I'd take Zay Flowers in a NY second over JSN.

JSN tried to comeback and play 2 or 3 times after he injured his Hammy in game one, so it's not like the Dude just quit after the first game. If he's there i take him, just watch the 2022 Rose Bowl.
