He's gonna get the Ravens starting defense now...  This will probably be ugly.

Probably. For whatever reason, they struggled to get pressure on us in the 1st game against them though.

I didn't see the first game, but I know Jimmie Smith didn't play, and now they have Marcus Peters.

"From where you sit"????

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

You have never been close to 12th best in the world at anything.  In my experience the people that squeal the loudest about not "accepting mediocrity" lead the most mediocre (or lower) lives.

Like I said before.  I see teams and fans celebrate making the playoffs every year.  NO ONE IS SATISFIED WITH JUST MAKING THE PLAYOFFS, but it is childish to act like making the playoffs makes a team a "loser".

The same crowd that says "regular season wins don't matter" are the ones whose heads explode over regular season losses.

I guess that is the difference between us . You are satisfied with being a loser( no sport calls any participant a winner if they come in 12th). While I would be happy with just a PO win to start, winning it all is the ultimate goal. Just because you set your goals so low don't be so POed if others don't.

Apparently the difference between us is that I can read.

I am able to respond to what people actually say while you have to make up lame strawmen to knock down because you have no argument against what I actually say.

Fred and I disagree on a great many things, but I know he wants the bengals to advance in the playoffs as much as anyone on this board. We just disagree on the best way to do it. Who knows who's right?

Hint: it's those that agree with bfine.

You say the Bengals are not losers finishing 12th. The goal in the NFL is to win the SUPER BOWL. The team who gets beat in that game had a pretty good season but they are also losers. Where does your straw man (a term you love to use when losing a discussion) comment come in. I say you don't come in first you are a loser, you say you come in 12th you are a winner.

Heh, do you see any Straw man inferences in your statements about me? You don't know me from Adam but insinuate I am a low life. You are the epitome of class. NOT!

Let's take a moment to read this for a minute.

So you'd be happy with 8-10th place (just a playoff win).

But did I read anything but the Superbowl was losing?

So you are satisfied with losing too......

Well what's all the debate been about? In a language Fred understands.

Case dismissed.

You can't win it all until you win one. I said I would be happy I also said I wouldn't call any team a winner unless they won the Super Bowl.

And you can't win one unless you get there. Which is why you won't see me taking shots at a qb who has been there 5 out of the last 9 years (for a 4th round QB at that).

p.s You sounding a little suspect in the credibility department already, talking about the big boy oline we got starting Sunday which was news to nearly everyone on the board didn't help.

When you have the franchise worst-ever run game, shoddy receivers and are on pace to surrender 56 sacks, it's kinda hard to grade the QB. Some of you seem to be judging Andy's performance as if the team isn't falling apart around him.

We excuse Palmer's overall losing record by saying "he had no defense" while also acting like Dalton should be winning with no defense + worst-ever run game + 56 sacks (pace)? Seems kinda silly. I know people hate excuses, and I get that, but they're pretty damn good excuses.

We'll find out soon enough while watching Finley, and probably again if we take Tua and don't fix anything else.

(11-06-2019, 09:41 AM)PDub80 Wrote: Where was this "Ownership/FO sucks" concept when the team was going to the playoffs 5 times in a row?

Where was it in 2013, 2014, 15 when the Bengals had an amazing roster?

Where was this line of thinking in 05, 06, & 07?

Be carefuleful if you come back with AD was good enough, etc. etc.... the question is a trap.

It never went away? I think most of the "haters" on here felt like we'd struck lightning in a bottle with some of these players and Mike Zimmer. We knew the wheels would fall off eventually. That's why some of us were so ticked (at ownership/FO) because we were so passive in free agency when the iron was hot.

Believe it or not, people generally aren't so obsessed with Andy that they design every argument and opinion around him. Well, maybe some are. Cool

(11-08-2019, 11:56 AM)Nicomo Cosca Wrote: Palmer’s teams were NOT more talented. Nobody and I mean NOBODY was talking about those teams having one of the deepest rosters like they did the 13-15 teams.

And I never said Dalton was pitiful. He was solid for a few years, great for part of one, and sucked the rest.

That's highly debatable as some have already shown. Offensively we were definitely more talented. The valley was also far worse for Dalton than it was for Palmer, talent-wise. The only time Palmer had a line even close to as bad as the last 4 years, he sucked ass (went 0-4), then got his elbow busted up.

Again, we're excusing Palmer with "he didn't have the talent around him" while also saying "Dalton sucks" because he stunk when the team around him is absolute trash. Jerry

Sure you can fine a few of them on here. Post counts dropped like a rock for the Finely fan boys. Waiting for the first win when they come racing back to praise him. Nothing against the guy, but he cannot make this team good. No one can.

The team has 10 losses this year and 80% belong to your boy Dalton. When it gets below 50% then you can crow. Andy is gone . Get over it.

I am not ripping Finley.  I have not said one bad thing about him.  I believe he is in the same position Andy was.  He does not have enough talent around him to succeed.

So I am not "whining" about Finley.  Instead I am laughing at all the clowns who claimed Dalton was the problem.

You were wrong.  Get over it.
