Campbell off the board is a bummer. Likely too rich for us.

It sounds like he is not going to start, so up to 7 million (almost as much as Hill) for a 38 year old backup seems too rich for me. I like him, not for 7 million.

Trey doesn’t sound too happy with Katie’s comments. Says there has been not much communication and that they told them last year and at the combine that they would get him a new deal. Doesn’t sound like this situation will be resolved anytime soon but who knows?

I haven’t had a chance to watch it all but he was on Pat Mcafees show today. Didn’t sound too happy with the Bengals

we have certainly hear heard the lack of respect and communication story before

Bengals should deal him if they can.... think there's too much bad blood now.

Maybe I am mis-remembering with Trey, but I know he made public comments about a holdout the last time around. But I think that his multiple times going on McAfee to discuss this contract situation and really being honest about that he's frustrated and not very happy, makes this a different situation. He's normally just a quiet guy that just goes about his business, and not that he is yelling into a microphone, but he's clearly sending a strong public message (which I don't blame him for).

And then you combine that with how, for the first time really this year, we saw Joe Burrow (normally a quiet and pretty reserved guy himself) come out and air his own grievances publicly in press conferences, and apply pressure on the front office, it just really leads me to think that something is deeply flawed in this front office.

And while this is old news to pretty much everyone on here, and probably in the NFL, it's just getting worse because now we have multiple players going this route, all at the same time, and it just tells you how wrong things seem to be going behind the scenes.

Yes I'm concerned for sure... and I think we all knew once Tee was signed Hendrickson was going to be the odd man out.

He doesn't have many options with the Bengals. Play on the last year of your contract or sign the extension the Bengals gave you. I don't think he will sit out because at his age he can't pass up losing a million per game.

RE: {The Ultimate Bengals Offseason Extravaganza Thread} - jj22 - 04-02-2025

It is disrespectful to think they can force him to play for 16m even if theoretically they can. They should have been traded him. But they never seem to know what they are doing in these cases.

With this Hendrickson situation offer a 2 year 65 million extension guaranteeing 40 would be fair for all parties involved get it done already

RE: {The Ultimate Bengals Offseason Extravaganza Thread} - Luvnit2 - 04-02-2025

Too much worry about Trey. He signed a contract, Bengals made an offer to tear it up and give him more money. Sorry, it is stupid for anyone to think Trey is being disrepected. This is the businee side of football, it is not personal and if Trey or fans makes it personal they are wrong in my opnion.

I could see the point if the team said flat out no, we will not consider a new deal, they did not.

RE: {The Ultimate Bengals Offseason Extravaganza Thread} - Luvnit2 - 04-02-2025

I just saw an interesting tidbit on escrow money. The owners voted to extend from March 31 to April 8th the date escrow money has to be done. It is relevent because the teams get TV money on April 8th. It may seem long no big deal, but that little time allows easier escrow deposits be made for smaller market teams like the Bengals.

I could be wrong, but I also think if Burrow is restructured after April 8th, the escrow money will not be due until April 8th of 2026. It may be why they have yet to restrcture him and add cap money or not.

He's outperformed his deal and he is in the final year of his contract. The FO should be offering him a fair market deal or straight up trade him.

This should have been handled a month ago!

I agree if I were him and his agent I would ask. But again, would Trey go to Bengals and take a pay cut if he underperfomed his contract?

The answer is no, but if were yes then it is fair for both sides. Your view is tainted one sided for Trey.

As for him talkig to Katie, I will speculate his agent is the one conversing with Katie and the FO, that is the agent's job.

If he was being overpaid he would probably  be cut.

Honestly,  I just wish the decision was made already.

Why?

Bengals have a roster of 90 guys to deal with soon, he is under contract so he will play in 2024 regardless. To those who say he will dvevelop an injury (fake it) or not play hard, he is 31 and not a good way for a 31 and in 2026 32 year old to get one last big pay day.

For all we know, that offer could have already been made. The team, as well as the Hendrickson camp has released no details of conversations. (I'm guessing that his camp is looking for at least 3 years, rather than two.)

RE: {The Ultimate Bengals Offseason Extravaganza Thread} - phil413 - 04-02-2025

I get impatient at times but I'd rather have a quiet front office. Katie is entitled to her opinion but nothing good comes from the quote. You don't need to make a case on being reasonable just work behind closed doors and if Trey wanted to cry to the media let it be. No reason to give ammo.

RE: {The Ultimate Bengals Offseason Extravaganza Thread} - Isaac Curtis: The Real #85 - 04-02-2025

K. Blackburn's comments were moronic and inflammatory and likely to piss off the player.

Ownership and the nepotism-laced FO are what holds this franchise back the most.

Monetary limitations are one thing. Acting like a jack@$$ in the press and i timating your bestcdefender is greedy when he is obviously playing on a deal WAY under market value is just stupid.

Unless you are just so proud of what a stupid b!tch you are and wanted to just let everyone know.
