Espinal was already coming back down to Earth before the move. He was on a 5-30 (.167/.242/.200 for a .442 OPS) stretch BEFORE moving to #2.

Quality win there. Pagan made it interesting there at the end. The radio PBP was commenting on how muddy the front side of the mound was getting and how it was effecting him due to how Pagan has an "extended" delivery in his legs.

And run w Greene, Abbot, Lodolo, Burns and Singer....with Ashcraft/Miley/Petty your next ones up.
It is a risk to do this, especially w Lowder and Spires injured, , but they need offense and Martinez will not be a Reds in 2026.

It worked out for an RBI walk this time, but Steer has way too much faith in the home plate umpires. He was correct multiple times before and it burned him for strike three.
6 runs in 5 straight . . . so far, only 2-2 with a four run lead in the 8th in the 5th game.

Yesterday kicked my ass and I was asleep EARLY. Didn't get to catch much aside from the first ELDC home run. Glad to see they hung on this morning when I turned on the local news. I'm happy with the series win, but would be even happier with a sweep! Let's hope they get it done today!

And it should have been 5 straight W's, if not for late-game pitching collapses.
Reds are 3.5 games behind the last WC spot with 106 games to play, 1/3 through the season.
Reds are .500 in nearly every way this year.
28-28 on the season
14-14 at home
14-14 on the road
14-14 against .500+ teams
In typical April fashion, the pitching was good while the bats were cool, and then May had a reversal.
Reds should try to pursue a RP (or two) in July, if not June.

Dumb that it's a night game despite it being Wednesday AND Game 3 of the series.
Nice to see the Reds back to .500.
I think the Benson magic might have been short lived. He's 2 for his last 20 with a .350 OPS.

If Greene wants to take another step forward, he needs to learn how to be more pitch efficient.
Glad to see the offense put up a fight in the 6th. Didn't get it all back, but put a crooked number on the board and pumped up the starter's pitch count.

That was a tactical failure by Francona there.
Used 2 different PH to bat for .303 hitting Hays.
Then used a 3rd PH in the same inning.
So when the next inning rolled around, we had two guys hitting .179 and .184 batting in the 9th inning. Garrett Hampton should NEVER be batting in the 9th inning down by 1 run.
