Pomeranz is only pitching the first inning i think. Ben Brown was supposed to start but since the Reds lit him up last week it was mentioned during yesterdays game that the Cubs were considering starting a bullpen arm and then bring in Brown.

So we have had Stephenson bark at the home plate ump after a strike 3 call and now Swanson and it's only the 2nd inning. I'll be shocked if someone doesn't get tossed today.

One hit through 8 innings. ONE. LOUSY. HIT.

Please fire Valaika from a cannon ASAP. Aim for the Toyota Tundra. Super Dave style.

Great pitching, no hitting, another shut out, I’m shocked. Seems like I’ve seen this before.

Pretty awful.

Good start by Lodolo, at least.

Shut out. Got 1 hit and k'd 11 times.

So Reds end May with 29 Wins, not the 30 that I hoped for.

Pitchers game, the wind was keeping it in Wrigley Field today. Reds lose 2 to 0 late in game on a tough ball that floated towards the right field stands wall up the line. Reds outfielder could not crash into wall and catch the ball, and anything down that 1st base line is in play, no foul ground inside wall before fans. Later a ball hit to De La Cruz but hit slow enough that De La Cruz just missed throwing out the final out at 1st, so a runner scored. So nobody was clobbering the ball. It came down to who got the fluke lucky hits.

As Scarlett says, tomorrow is another day. Get win 30 to start June and win the series against Cubs in Chicago on Sunday. There is no crying in baseball.

The Reds often look like they are looking for "their pitch"(a grooved fastball down the middle) and looked shocked when the pitcher puts the ball on the corner of the plate, especially high and inside.

I hate to think it, but the Reds staff and Burrow might have to set up some group therapy at the end of the season.  So many outstanding performances pissed down their respective teams legs for reasons beyond their control.
