The Burton hype train is full go.

I did notice in some wide receiver drills in past clips the lineup order went Chase, Tee, Yoshi... and Burton (before Chuck).... Noteworthy.

As it should be.

Jones is a great STer and while he definitely has value at WR, he is clearly not as talented as the other guys.

Hell, Jordan Moore is probably a better WR at this point than Jones.

Burton's talent has never been the issue.

Ratledge could be better, I honestly don't know with his shorter arms and how he stays too high at times. Fairchild has these things on Tate.

Great stuff, will read all this stuff later, thanks Pally.

Love Higgins comments on Andrei Iosivas: "Y’all see him,” said Tee. “He got bigger. He got stronger. And he got faster. He’s twitchier and he knows everything right now. It’s great to see.”

Yoshi is a great story and a very good draft pick by the FO. I can see him getting better. I remember how may gave up on T.J. Houshmandzadeh.

He had a crappy first 2 years, then was injured year 3 and then started a great career in year 4. Yoshi starts year 4 in 2025.

If Newton starts at Nickel then that would allow Dax to move back to his natural position which is SS!

Yoshi is a prime example of someone who wants to play.  Every off-season he has worked relentlessly to improve every aspect of his skill set...and it shows.

Dax will have to get healthy first. Looks to me like both Fig and Battle have a big-time head start at both Nickel and Strong Safety.

For sure, no one can question Yoshi's work ethic, he improved a ton last year catching the ball with his hands away from his body.

Now he just needs to clean up the drops and learn to run more dependable routes for Joe to be able to depend on.

on the pass after CTB's INT the other day

Quote:The drill wasn’t even designed for deep passes. Chase nearly ran into the defensive line participating in a different drill down the sideline, not thinking any deep routes were coming their way.

No, this wasn’t scripted. That’s what made Burrow’s reminder all the more exciting.
“You want Sheisty to come out,” Taylor-Britt said afterward.

on intensity

Quote:There hasn’t been a philosophy shift in the offseason program, necessarily. That will be coming when training camp rolls around. Yet, the urgency and competitive levels of the last two weeks featured a notable uptick from the light work of previous seasons.

What does it all mean? Not necessarily a game-changer in the big picture, but the seriousness of the proceedings is encouraging, specifically on defense.

on the defense

Quote:There’s more press-man coverage and versatility in where they line up.

For now, in terms of the confidence emanating from the group, it’s working.

On Yoshi and Chase Brown...he also says WR3 is Yoshi's to lose and the fight is among Burton, Jones, and Isiah Williams for the final spots.

Quote:Well, there’s no sign of slowing down. More than 45 minutes after practice ended on Tuesday, there they were, the two just then coming off the field long after most had showered and moved on with their day. These were the same reports given when they sought out receiver coach Drew Lieberman last offseason and experienced huge gains on the field.

Seriously, even better.

Did you see that picture that highlighted his quad development? Holy shit, this dude is primed to make great, long strides en route to the endzone.

Missed it, but sure wouldn't surprise me. I am not doubting Yoshi.

RE: Notes from Voluntary Practice - QueenCity - 06-05-2025

Saw Yoshi at Taste of Cincinnati a couple weeks ago. He looks good hope he makes this a team a 3 headed dragon WR room.

For the record, this is Year 3 for Yoshi.
